Twelve-year-old Matthew is trapped in his bedroom by the crippling
OCD. Matthew believes that he was somehow responsible, and the
guilt weighs heavy on him. He spends most of his time staring out
of his window as the inhabitants of Chestnut Close go about their
business – until the day he is the last person to see his next
door neighbour’s toddler, Teddy, before he goes missing. Matthew
must turn detective and unravel the mystery of Teddy’s disappearance
– with the help of a brilliant cast of supporting characters.

wow just wow.
Parts of it were relatable , which is what make me read it to the end. it was also boring at times.
Very nice
Very good
I enjoyed this book because it kept me interested in the story and made me want to read more. I would recommend this book to people of my age.
Highly recommend. Sensitively written with themes including baby loss, bereavement and OCD.
recoomended for anyone who loves mystery
goldfish boy is a great book about a boy who has to keep himself and everything else around him clean. one day, a toddler next door disappears and he decides to try and find out who did the crime, but, with him not liking the outdoors, it is harder than the thinks.
The book was very interesting. I like the way Matthew does not give up to find the kid. My favourite character is Melody because she is not afraid to be herself around other people. She is also really kind and friendly.
This book is really good because i like how he knows everything his Neighbors do
I found this book slow to get going but liked the way that the boy's needs were portrayed.
A very adventurous and suspenseful book. I would recommend.
Goldfish boy is about a boy called Matthew who has OCD ( Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ). He is always looking out of his window and making little notes of things in his book but when he is the last person to see his neighbours grandson, he must use his wits to find young Teddy before it is too late.
The main character is a boy with OCD who helps to investigate a missing toddler. Also features the theme of infant death so is a relatively challenging subject matter.
It was interesting because it was an investigation story and the book wasn’t just about one character.
I would recommend this book. I found it interesting but a bit scary!
"it is sad
A fabulous book which seems very appropriate (the main character Matty constantly washes his hands). I'd recommend this to a somebody who enjoys a mystery story.
If you are scared of bacterias, you should read this book.
This story is told so well - a whodunit, but also a tale of a boy trapped inside his house with his OCD. The characters are well developed and the relationships between the boy and his parents and the neighbours in his cul-de-sac are carefully interwoven to produce a clever and intriguing book. Definitely recommend for Year 5 and 6.
I loved all the characters in this book and the story!
This is about an anti-social boy who has a life roller coaster and this is probably the most touching book I have ever read. I reacommens this book to EVERYONE
one of my favorite books that I've ever red. The book is quite a strange one to start of with, it gives not much information to start of with but when the story unfolds its quite a mystery.
This was a funny book I could not figure out who took teddy until the end
The book that I was reading in a fictional book. My favourite character is Mathew because I think this he never gives up even though he has to not touch anyone.
I would recommend it to a year 4,5 and 6.
It was a really good book about a boy troubled by his hygeine
It was a fasanating insperience which taught me that the world is germ infested and that you need to wash your hands!
Slow to get going, but once Teddy went missing it was quite good because although Matthew has OCD and hates going outside he faced his fear to help find Teddy. The doctor helped him to understand that he shouldn't blame himself for his brother dying.
This is a really good book! I only downgraded it because it identifies a bit with the current time (the main character has a syndrome where he hates dirt and germs so no one touch’s him and he doesn’t go out) I feel bad and I know it’s not the authors fault but it just makes me squirm at the bits about that. However it is a really good thrilling book and I enjoyed (most) of it and was very happy when Teddy (a little boy who went missing) got home safe (sorry for the spoilers). My favourite character is Mel a girl who’s a bit of a chatterbox and is very playful, understanding and kind. I would recommend this book to everyone (except people who are sad about COVID 19).
It was a really good book, it made me smile and cry. I recommend this book to mystery-loving and willing readers
