The legend of Podkin One-Ear continues in this second Five Realms’ adventure from the winner of the Blue Peter Best Story Award.
The bard tiptoes out of his room, the crow-dream still echoing in his head, making him twitch at imaginary creaks of iron wings . . .
The bard must leave Thornbury. It is not safe for him to stay. Rue, his new apprentice, travels with him – keen to learn his trade – and hear the next installment in the legend of Podkin One-Ear . . .
Podkin and his fellow rabbits have been sheltering in Dark Hollow after their battle with Scramashank. Paz tends to the rabbits with sleeping sickness; Crom meets with the war council . . . Podkin has nothing to do! Frustrated, Podkin goes exploring and discovers an abandoned underground chamber. Armed with the Gift of Dark Hollow, Podkin learns to moonstride, and Paz is rewarded with a magical gift of her own . . .
‘A spellbinding story full of friendship, excitement and magic.’ Guardian

This book was amazing and a great adventure story I'm going to read the next one.
I loved this whole series!
This is good but I like the first more
It is an amazing book because it is quite
suspenseful and will keep making you want to read more.
This book is about 3 siblings who go on a life risking journey. And what surprises me is that they were rabbits!
This series is really fun as they find new magical weapons and fight off the dark
I like this book because it has Podkin.
This was a funny book. I liked it
Loved this 2nd book in the series. The bunnies continue on their adventures to try and defeat the Gorm. You find out who the bard really is to....but no spoilers here. You'll have to read to find out. Amazing writer and the illustrations through the book are incredible to really bring the characters to life.
It was very good but went on a bit
This book is a fantastic read to enjoy over a few days. My favourite character is Pook because he is a gift to the three rabbits who have faced the Gorm many times and escaped them for all the times they've seen them. Pook finds lots of clues which have helped them quite a lot (even the small ones). Eventually, they find the lost gift of Dark Hollow which Shade the cursed hid away because the rabbits living there were fishing too much. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read the first sequel to this book.
An exciting story - a rabbit version of Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones.
It’s really good because it’s a story in a story. I also like it because it’s really adventurous.
I loved this book because it has a very interesting plot that attracts curiosity and makes the reader want to keep reading.
This is the second book in the podkin one ear series. I loved the drama and the story line.
This book is very exciting. I enjoyed reading it.
Absolutely fantastic book. I loved it. All the 5 books in the 5 Realms series are amazing epic adventures. I can’t wait for the next one to come out in October.
It was very good. I would recommend it. I want to read the other Podkin books.
yes
In all of the Podkin one-ear books there’s going to be a new magical gift like Starclaw in the first book and in this book Ailfew and Moonstrider. I recommend this to people who like a bit of danger and excitement in their reads.
Podkin picks up the story just where he left it, the bard gets an apprentice and the adventure begins!
Very good book
Mystical
amazing
brilliant
The second book in the Podkin One Ear series does not disappoint.
I and my 8 year old daughter are loving the epic tale of Podkin and his family and friends as they strive to defeat Scramashank and his army of evil Gorm.
Bring on book 3!
I was really looking forward to hearing more from Pook about Podkin's adventures and it was great to be back with him, Paz et al. on the next step of their adventure.
Kieran Larwood's present tense style enables the reader to be part of the journey with character and I particularly enjoyed Pook and Rue travelling to the Bard's Festival as the story was being delivered - another clever technique that enhanced the reading experience.
I will certainly advise the children in my class to have a go at reading the series!
Amazing and interesting the best book I have read
I think The Gift of Dark Hollow is a great book as it follows on from the Legend of Podkin One-Ear where Podkin, Paz (his older sister) and Pook (his younger brother) are hiding from the Gorm at Dark Hollow warren with Crom, a blind soldier, Brigid, a good witch rabbit, Mish and Mash, two dwarf rabbits, and the rabbits that they rescued from the Gorm camp. Podkin, Paz and Pook must travel to Applecross warren, which has been invaded by the Gorm to get a hammer, one of the twelve magical gifts, which could defeat the Gorm. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure books.
The Gift of Dark Hollow is the follow up from Podkin One-Ear. Podkin, Paz and Pook live at Dark Hollow warren with the other rabbits they had rescued from a Gorm camp including his mum and aunt. Podkin ,Paz and Pook go under the warren and find the gift of Dark Hollow, a brooch that can let you jump through shadows. They find out there is a gift at Applecross warren that can forge Gorm piercing arrows so they go to find it.
Paz is my favourite character as she wraps vines around the Gorm using the gift of Redwater warren, Aiflew.
It is a fiction book and is good for people who like adventure stories.
