A tale loved by many from one of Britain’s best-known authors, this wonderful new edition of The Sheep-Pig comes with a delightful introduction by Michael Morpurgo.
The Sheep-Pig is one of Dick King-Smith’s most famous tales. It shot to further fame when the film adaptation, Babe, was released in 1995.
‘Why can’t I learn to be a Sheep-Pig?’
When Babe, the little orphaned piglet, is won at a fair by Farmer Hogget, he is adopted by Fly, the kind-hearted sheep-dog. Babe is determined to learn everything he can from Fly. He knows he can’t be a sheep-dog. But maybe, just maybe, he might be a sheep-pig.
‘An unexpectedly thrilling, funny charmer of a book’ – Guardian

i loved the book - and how it is so dramatic!
I thought this book was full of adventure and had a theme about friendship. The book was a fiction story and my favourite character, was Babe the main character of the story. I liked Babe because he showed qualities of a child growing up and learning the animal farm world around him. Babe was brave, as he showed that he could also heard the sheep like a sheep dog. I would recommended this story to anyone who has not read this story.
I love this book because Babe the sheep-pig gets strong enough by herding them but he had to say a password. Eventually Babe got so good at it that farmer hogget even tried him on sheep-dog trials!
I loved it !
okay
It took some time to read, but very good.
It made me cry
This is one of my favourite chapter books. Babe is my favourite character and my favourite bit is when he saves the sheep from the attack from the ‘wolves’. I would tell all my friends to read this book.
I loved it when Babe spoke to the sheep and could do the job better than the dogs!
It was about a pig who wanted to be a sheeppig (sheep dog). He was very polite to the sheep and that was why he was so good at it.
This was a lovely book full of surprises don't judge it by the cover it is a fantastic book I would definetly recommend this book
Great story about learning and not judging a book by its cover.
This book is about Babe the pig who lives with s sheepdog and learns to look after the sheep and eventually goes into a competition. Some of the words were tricky because they talk with funny accents.
I liked this book . It was a quick read for me and my favourite character is Fly the sheep dog because she helped Babe find his talent for sheep-herding. I would recommend it to someone who likes animal tales.
It was a funny book with a surprising but happy ending.
It a farmer themed book. Great story
I love this book. Babe completed his challenge. He started off with not knowing about sheep and then he learnt how to talk them. It was a happy story.
good
Funny
It’s funny that’s a bit sad.
Favourite character is babe, because everyone made fun of her but she still carried on being her. I would recommend this book because it’s exciting and easy to read.
This book was an amazing book. It tell us that we can be anything we want if work really hard.
Difficult for me to read by myself my mum need to help me also language in the book quit difficult and my mim needed to explain to me what does it mean
I liked it but it wasn’t my favourite book. It is about a pig called babe and a sheep dog looks after him. Soon after he can do what she can do.
My favourite characters were Babe and Ma the sheep. Babe was a very friendly pig.
It was really scary when farmer hogget was about to kill babe.
I liked the pig because he wanted to learn how to be a sheep-dog but as a pig. It was really funny when you had to read what the sheep said.
i loved this book
sad because ma died
We thought that it was amazing because the Sheep Pig is cute. We thought that we would be great sheep herders. We liked Babe was the best character because he was cute and funny. He tried really hard to do this job. We would recommend it to someone else.
