How the cat purred and how the witch grinned,
As they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind.
A very funny story of quick wits and friendship, Room on the Broom is another smash hit from the unparalleled picture book partnership of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo.
The witch and her cat fly happily over forests, rivers and mountains on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand. Luckily, they are retrieved by a dog, a bird and a frog, who are all keen for a ride on the broom. It’s a case of the more, the merrier, but the broomstick isn’t used to such a heavy load and it’s not long before . . . SNAP! It breaks in two! And with a greedy dragon looking for a snack, the witch’s animal pals better think fast.
This edition features the captivating classic story with a stunning, redesigned cover and beautiful finish, making it a must-have addition to the bookshelves of all Donaldson and Scheffler fans – big and small!
Also available with redesigned covers are: The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, The Snail and the Whale, The Smartest Giant in Town, Monkey Puzzle, Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, and A Squash and a Squeeze.

This book was good. I liked the bit where they made a new broom.
Pepa has the witch as a teddy and flies her on her broom as we read the story, woosh!
It was excellent because it had different things to find and it was clever and it had a happy ending.

When the dragon landed and the other animals tricked the dragon scaring it away
I like the part when the witch made a new broom stick with the chairs for everyone!!
My favourite character was the cat because he was funny he did not want anyone to come on the broom.
Everyone wanted to go on the broom but it snapped and then the witch was by herself and the rest of the animals were on the other half. The dragon wanted to eat the witch but the witch said "nooo."
The dragon planned to have a witch for dinner and the animals came to defeat the dragon.
The witch was my second favourite character because she was really kind sharing her broom even though there was not much space. The animals were also very helpful.

Room on the Broom - Julia Donaldson
I love this book, I always reread it, perfect around Halloween. I love the illustrations, the rhyming, and the repetition in the text, it makes it a joy to read aloud, especially using expressions. My favourite character is Room.
It took forever to read
I love acting this story out
I love all the animals and the monster at the end but the best part is the invention! This is one of my favourite Julia Donaldson books.
