What a great book! An interesting and very readable history of chocolate from its invention to today. Loved all the old photos too.
From its early ethical, moral and highly principled Quaker manufacturers who used the wealth chocolate created to improve living conditions for their workers, via the slave trade, to competition around the world and eventually to today's global monstrosities with zero ethics, morals or principles apart from to amass wealth for shareholders. I was left wishing that the early Quaker principles were still dominating business. What a pleasant place the world might be then.
