The Tales of Beedle the Bard have been favourite bedtime reading in wizarding households for centuries. Full of magic and trickery, these classic tales both entertain and instruct, and remain as captivating to young wizards today as they were when Beedle first put quill to parchment in the fifteenth century. There are five tales in all: ‘The Tale of the Three Brothers’ Harry Potter fans will know from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; ‘The Fountain of Fair Fortune’, ‘The Warlock’s Hairy Heart’, ‘The Wizard and the Hopping Pot’ and ’Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump’ complete the collection. These narrative gems are accompanied by explanatory notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore (included by kind permission of the Hogwarts Headmaster’s archive). His illuminating thoughts reveal the stories to be much more than just simple moral tales, and are sure to make Babbitty Rabbitty and the slug-belching Hopping Pot as familiar to Muggles as Snow White and Cinderella.

This brand new edition of these much loved fairy tales from the wizarding world pairs J.K. Rowling’s original text with gorgeous jacket art by Jonny Duddle and line illustrations throughout by Tomislav Tomic.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is published in aid of the Lumos (link to wearelumos.org), an international children’s charity (registered charity number 1112575) founded in 2005 by J.K Rowling.
Lumos is dedicated ending the institutionalisation of children, a harmful practice that affects the lives of up to eight million disadvantaged children around the world who live in institutions and orphanages, many placed there as a result of poverty, disability, disease, discrimination and conflict; very few are orphans. Lumos works to reunite children with their families, promote family-based care alternatives and help authorities to reform their systems and close down institutions and orphanages.

It's so wonderful! I recommend people read the ones with added notes from Professor Albus Dumbledore. It has a lot of explanations in it and teaches you how to think like him! I also love The Fountain of Fair Fortune! The stories are so This is the kind of fairy tale I want to grow up with. and I have developed a sheer dislike for muggle fantasies. The book is Magical. The tales are like antiques crafted with the most care an artist can give. The stories are amazing and I'm in love with this. Lovely. This is what I'm gonna read my children to bed. This is a collection of 5 short stories. Each story has morals. At the end of each story, there are small notes written by Albus Dumbledore. All stories are about magic. Even though these are magical stories with morals, the lessons learned from them are adaptable for muggles (us) too. A book with good stories that can be passed on to young children.

This book was a brilliant collection of the most classic children’s stories. Albus Dumbledore's detailed and insightful notes really bring the stories together and add an educational element. I would reccomend this to readers age 7 plus though the “Warlock's Hairy Heart” may not be appropriate for sensitive readers.

If you like the Harry Potter series of books then this would be a good book for you. I like how Dumbledore features in some of it and gives his own idea of what he thinks the story was about. I like how there were lots of little stories in one book and I would imagine that wizarding parents would read this to their children as a bedtime story.

The selection of stories in one book is immense because each and every one of these tales has an impact on normal life and other skills to shield selfishness and learn more about the trouble other human beings have.

This book as loads of magical wizarding stories including Babbity Rabbity that Harry, Ron and Hermione read in Harry Potter 7.

I love this book!I started reading it because I think the Harry Potter series is amazing, so if, like me you love the Harry Potters, I would definitely recommend it. It is a collection of five stories in one book, and the cool thing is, it is a book within a book, because it is mentioned a lot in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, especially the last story in ‘Tales of Beedle the Bard. It is amazing, however I would not recommend it to young children, as it can be quite gory, or to people who have not finished the entire Harry Potter series as it contains spoilers. It is a brilliant piece of fiction.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard makes an appearance in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is a selection of fairy tales for magical children.

The stories are lovely and usually have a meaning behind them as do regular fairy tales. After each story are some notes written by Dumbledore.

If you like the world of Harry Potter, you’ll enjoy these stories too.
