HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO TO TRUST WHEN YOU CAN’T EVEN TRUST YOURSELF?
I look at my hands. One of them says FLORA BE BRAVE.
Flora has anterograde amnesia. She can’t remember anything day-to-day: the joke her friend made, the instructions her parents gave her, how old she is.
Then she kisses someone she shouldn’t, and the next day she remembers it. It’s the first time she’s remembered anything since she was ten.
But the boy is gone. She thinks he’s moved to the Arctic.
Will following him be the key to unlocking her memory? Who can she trust?

The concept was amazing! I loved the idea, and the storyline was intriguing. I found it incredibly interesting and also very clever, to write form the perspective of a girl suffering from amnesia. I thought the plot unravelling was rather interesting, and I loved how it unfolded, despite Flora not being able to remember much.
My only problem, was some of the things Flora did during the book. For example, getting on the plane. How did she not raise suspicion, especially from staff members?
4 stars, very very good! I would recommend!
An interesting theme for a book and not something anyone might have experienced but something that captures the imagination and makes you wonder what it would be like. There are lots of twists and turns and sometimes it's a bit hard to work out what is really going on. I love the the main characters brother Jacob who appears throughout the story and brings together the story from afar.
I loved it, at times you get as confused as Flora though. Reading this book you will feel every emotion, you feel scared, happy, sad and confusion. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels as if they are trapped or something is being kept from you. but beware it does swear. Happy Reading!
The story of a girl with anterograde amnesia; she remembers her childhood but forgets now.
An interesting topic, the main character is engaging and the story is well written.
Plot twists, a revelatory ending.
I quite enjoyed this book though at times it was pretty sad and unhappy. Despite this, it was a great read and I just kept wanting to read more! My favourite character is Flora as she is always determined to do whatever she can however bad her mental health is. I think a lot of this is down to Jacob her brother too (another one of my favourite characters) as he always encouraged her. This was a fantastic story though!
I would recommend this book it is lovely and has an amazing message
The one memory of Flora Banks is a fantastic book that demonstrates many problems faced by Flora, who has anterograde amnesia. Flora becomes obsessed with hunting down a boy who kissed her and made her remember or so she thinks. I loved this book because Emily Barr has written the book as if we are in Flora's mind and has written it in a very clever way.
Amazing, emotional story with a plot twist. Quick read. Recommend to people who love real life style stories.
This is a great book about a girl called Flora Banks who has amnesia and can't remember anything from the age of 10. Then she kisses a boy on the beach and remembers it. This changes her life....
Flora be brave. That is the most inspiring quote. Flora, had a brain tumor at age 10, she got it removed, but her memory came along with it. She's never had a memory since. This book is about a seventeen year old girl, who finds herself, she learns to trust herself and believe in herself. I found this so inspiring because I need to learn to do the same.
I didn't enjoy this book very much. I enjoyed the first 100-or-so pages, but then it became a bit too cliché for my liking. Sorry, but not very highly recommended, you can guess the plot from the 50th page.
