It astounds me how Stephen King can write epic novels of almost 1300 pages (The Stand) or short stories of 9 pages (The Man Who Loved Flowers) and yet still create masterpieces. His storytelling ability is a whole other level of genius.
My favourites:
Graveyard Shift & The Mangler - had me cringeing all the way through as I could sense what was coming!
The Boogeyman & Sometimes They Come Back - the stuff of childhood nightmares.
The Ledge - loved this! Karma truly is a bitch!
Most surprising:
The Last Rung on the Ladder & The Woman in the Room - quite emotional storylines! Not what I expected.
One for the Road - a vampire story!
Where does he get his ideas from?!!:
Grey Matter - seriously disgusting 🤢
The Lawnmower Man - his descriptions are so vivid!
I Am the Doorway - made my skin crawl!
Battleground - crazy idea but pretty cool!
Still great (obviously - it’s King!) but not top of my list:
Jerusalem's Lot - preferred One for the Road
Night Surf - nice little tie-in with The Stand
Trucks - cool idea!
Strawberry Spring - probably the least interesting story in the book for me
Quitters, Inc. - not a smoker, but I can see how if I was, this would make me quit!
I Know What You Need - takes stalking to the next level!
Children of the Corn - not as scary as I was expecting
The Man Who Loved Flowers - nice little twist
