One of my favorite part is when the pugs look down in the ice and right there underneath their feet is a humongous crackers Eyeballs, so they race even faster and they win the race. But if you wanna know the rest of the story, you've just got to read it

I found this book really fun because it was set in a different world and I really liked the big race. One especially funny part was when the competitors stopped off at the yeti noodle bar during the race, and some changed into yetis!

Another great story by the fabulous Reeve and McIntyre it echoes many great stories of races across interested terrain to a fantastic prize. A fabulous fun adventure of two new friends racing across a magical frozen tundra on a sled lead by 66 pug dogs against other worthy competitors most of the story it brilliantly written. However, I found the beginning of the story strange and unexplained, I think most children wouldn't worry about it but as an adult reader I found myself thoroughly confused by the abrupt start to the story and the characters which were never heard from again after the first two chapters. I almost feel it would be better to begin the story with no explanation as to why a boy and 66 pugs are left stranded in the arctic. Another word of caution is that a main characters grandfather dies, although this is very gently and beautifully written it may not be suitable for every child. Despite this a brilliant adventure story filled with fantastic illustration. Overall brilliant.

I love it because of the way that Shen got left with 66 pugs and jackets. He went to a local village to find food and went to the Post Office which was really ‘Po Of The Ice’ because letters have fallen off and he met a girl and her mother and grandfather who were willing to give the pugs somewhere to sleep and have food. My favourite character is Shen, because of how he saved Sika and all the other racers from becoming full yetis when they were eating yeti noodles on their trip to the top of the world! I would recommend this book to someone else because it is funny and full of adventure!
