‘This is a story of friendship with the cleverest of plot twists, and descriptions so vivid you can feel the heat of Stanley’s desert prison burning off the page. A total must-read’ The Times ‘Totally absorbing and beautifully written’ The Bookseller

An enjoyable book. This will keep children guessing and keen to find out more. Page turner.
I loved the part when the main characters got trapped in a hole full of yellow spotted lizards. It was very dramatic and I couldn't stop reading. My favourite character is Stanley because he saved Zero (Hector Zeroni). I read this book because my sister recommended it to me, I recommend it to Reid because he likes reptiles.
The book was really good but I feel bad for Stanley who had to go to camp green lake
I think that holes chapter 1 was good but when I read chapter 2 it will be better I still think that this book is great so 5 stars.
My fav person was Stanley because he told you many things about him and he told a very good story. But it kind of got boring in the middle of the story.
I really like it
it was realllllly good

Amazingly funny - love it!
Great book. It covers so many areas that are relevant to young people, especially around the ideas of friendship, trust, loyality, mistrusting, betrayal and other tough conversations. The amount of discussions and thoughts shared about the fiction situations as well as reflecting on their own behaviours has been great to listen to and participate in.
I really liked this book, after reading a small amount in school, I read the rest at home and i'm glad I did.
I read it at school and I thought it was great. Being the speedy reader I am I skipped ahead whilst the teacher was reading it out loud and I finished it in about a week! It was a mystery full of twists and everything tied together by the final page. I don't want to give away the ending but it was really good and I would recommend it to fans of the Murder Most Unladylike series and Lions and Liars.
I read this book as a child but re- read it as an adult and I really love the message of perseverance and friendship that goes through the story.
This seems to be a super popular book with my pupils, but it just wasn't my cup of tea! I think it would be better read as a whole class, with a treat to watch the movie together afterwards.
Futility, obsession and exploitation. Self belief and family. Wide ranging emotional ride.
It’s about an innocent kid and it surprised me.
This book was fantastic. It was about a boy called stanley yelnats IV as all his family named their children stanley is it was yelnats backwards. Stanley got sent to camp grean lake as he was accused of stealing clyde Livington's shoes. I recommend this book totally 100%!
It was really good and exciting and I would recommend it to people who like adventurous books.
Nice story, liked the friendships.
Louis Sachsen is a good author.
Stanley Yelnats wasn’t supposed to go there in the first place.
I love this book and I’ll recommend it to someone else.
The author was so good I loved the film as well

A lovely story of friendship, morals and a peek into the punishment system.
I really liked it. I liked the ending and it was very funny the twists and turns.
The person who runs the place is looking for a suitcase underground and Stanley yelnats has to dig up the truth
