Torak is an unwilling hero. He is scared and trusts no one. His only companion is a wolf cub only three moons old, whom he seems to understand better than any human.

Excellent use of descriptive language, really helped children with an understanding of the Stone Age times.

It took me a while to get into this novel as I wouldn’t typically choose to read it. However, as it progressed, I enjoyed the use of the different narrations to portray the different ways Torak and the Wolf saw the same thing happening.

As the story progressed I became more engrossed in the journey of the characters. There were moments of incredible suspense that compelled me to want to read on rather than do what I should have been doing!

The storyline was nice but I struggles to get engaged.

Full of adventure and action this chapter book is great for older children. Torak the main character becomes more independent throughout the story.

A thoroughly-realised recreation of life in prehistory, somewhere in northern Europe. Though many aspects will be unfamiliar, the story itself revolves around the classic voyage of discovery of a lone boy who is not aware of who he really is. Along the way he makes friends, firstly with his wolf-brother, who helps him to accomplish the task set him by his dying father. You will never hear trees sighing in the wind in the same way after reading this! Highly recommended.

It took a while to get going and make any progress along the story line. The visual imagery was great, great scene setting and atmosphere.

Wolf brother is an adventure filled book, but also gory. my three favorite characters are, Wolf,Renn and Torak, all are the main characters in this thrilling page turner of a book.
this is one of michelle pavers best books, i would give it 5 out of 5, and recommend it for fans of, mystery, laughter and quite a bit of gore.
recommended for readers of 12 and over who are not fainthearted.

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING, 1000000000 OUT OF 10.

Very detailed book. Feel like you are there watching it. The start is a bit sad and gruesome but the story is great and lots of adventures and the story unravels.

It was OK, but confusing names and a disappointing ending.
Otherwise, it was a very good book.

This is my favorite book off all - I've read it four times!
It's set in prehistoric north-western Europe, in a world of hunter-gatherers, endless forests, superstition and magic.

Torak lives alone with his father in the forest, and has never been allowed to come into contact with other clans, though he doesn't know why and doesn't really care. But shortly after his 13th birthday, his father is mortally wounded by a gigantic bear.
On his deathbed, his father tells him that the bear was posessed by a demon sent to kill him by an old enemy. The bear will continue to kill every living creature in the forest, until, in a month's time, it will be invincible. Torak is the only one who can defeat the bear, and to do so he must take the Nanuak to the Mountain of the World Spirit, a mountain no human has ever been able to find.
Still his father forbids him to seek help from the clans and Torak must find his way alone, until he meets an orphaned wolf cub and a girl from the Raven clan called Renn.

The way Michelle Paver writes some chapters from the animals' point of view is amazing, and this book is full of magic, mystery, friendship and suspense.
I recommend it to anyone over 9 (up to adults)!
