Vintage is celebrating a stellar year of publishing some of the best new crime authors working today. We have a very exciting opportunity for reading groups to read some of their hottest new talents in exchange for online reviews.

Jessica Barry is a pseudonym for an American author who has lived and worked in London for the past fifteen years. Look for Me (previously published as Freefall), her debut thriller, has sold in more than twenty-two territories around the world and has also secured a major Hollywood film deal. Her new thriller, Don’t Turn Around, is one of the New York Times top 10 crime novels of 2020.

Tanen Jones grew up in Texas and North Carolina. She has a degree in American history and spent several years editing law and criminal justice textbooks. She now lives in New York with her partner, where she writes from her apartment window. The Better Liar is her first novel.

Emily Koch is an award-winning journalist and graduate of the Bath Spa Creative Writing programme. Her debut novel, If I Die Before I Wake, was shortlisted for the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger award, longlisted for Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award, and selected as a Waterstones Thriller of the Month. She lives in Bristol.

Jo Jakeman was the winner of the Friday Night Live 2016 competition at the York Festival of Writing. Born in Cyprus, she worked for many years in the City of London before moving to Cornwall with her husband and twin boys. Safe House is her gripping new psychological thriller.

Radio 2 Book Club - The Correspondent

The next book to be featured this season on the Sara Cox Radio 2 Book Club is The Correspondent by Virginia Evans – a stunning debut novel that portrays a small life expanding, and celebrates personal transformation at a time when change seemed impossible. The book will be released on 15 May and Virginia’s interview with Sara is on BBC Sounds from Tuesday 29 April.
