What is the Book Club Hub?
The Book Club Hub, formerly known as Reading Groups for Everyone, is packed with amazing features to keep you and your fellow readers connected — not just within your club, but with the entire Book Club Hub community.
Whether you’re a book club leader or a member, this platform is your go-to space for sharing, discovering, and growing together.
What can you do?
• Join your book club together online and connect with your members instantly
• Log everything you’ve read to track your progress
• Tag books for your TBR pile so you never forget a great recommendation
• Share your reviews and see what others think
• Apply for free book sets for your club in return for reviews
• Read the latest news from authors and The Reading Agency
What sort of group can I add to the Book Club Hub website?
To add a club to the Book Club Hub website have to be a group of adults who come together (literally or virtually) to share and discuss things that they have read, books they have listened to or literature they have read aloud together. They can be commonly known as reading groups or books clubs, or sometimes by other names. Your group doesn’t have to meet in a venue – it can be an online group – but it does have to discuss reading. If you run a book club with children or young people, you can sign up as a leader but the members under 18-years-old cannot join themselves.
Clubs can be run by libraries, other organisations or by members of the public.
Film clubs, craft circles and other interest groups of the like are not allowed on Book Club Hub and will be removed from the database.
See Terms and Conditions for more details.
What is on the Offers Page?
The Reading Agency works with publishers and other partners like book prizes and festivals to bring you offers and initiatives for book clubs. These may be a free book set for your group, invitations to read and comment on a new author’s work, ideas for your group to discuss, authors who are available to come and talk to your group, posters and publicity materials to promote a reading initiative and national reading schemes and promotions your group can get involved with.
Go to the Offers page to find out about the latest offers, news and events. If you want to follow any of the offers up, you will find contact details at the end of each listing.
Why should I put information about my book club on the Book Club Hub?
By adding your book club to the Book Club Hub website be able to publicise your group (if it is an adult book club) to let people know if they can join you and be part of growing an online community of people who believe in the power and impact of book clubs. You can send us in your stories about your book club and how it is making a difference in your community. And you can receive information about offers and events that your book club can take advantage of by signing up to our Book Club Hub Bulletin. All leaders of book clubs can apply for the publisher offers on the Offers page to receive free books in return for reviews. The site also has the latest news and resources to support your club.
Once your club is registered, you can rate and review books your club has read, add books you’d like to read to your TBR pile, read other’s reviews and apply for offers. There is a guide to help you make the most of the site: Book club leaders | Librarians and teachers.
Special rules for children’s and young people’s clubs
You will see a safety icon against clubs for children and young people and families which will remind you to that it is your responsibility to check that the group has the proper safety and insurance policies are in place.
We have this rule to help comply with the Children Act. Even when Book Clubs are run by public organisations we still advise that parents and carers make sure that the organisation responsible for the group complies with the Child Protection Act and that it has suitably qualified staff and policies in place.
See The Charity Commission for information and advice on what organisations should do to help ensure your child’s safety.
