A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here were more than just peculiar.

I really enjoyed this but I’m not sure it’s aimed at children. More young adults with some of the gun references. Although, maybe as someone from England I find the frequent references to weapons more shocking than someone from North America.
The book was very creepy and at one point I was genuinely, heart-racing frightened and I had to stop reading for a minute! The pictures, which are real, found photographs that have been weaved into and around the plot, really added an interesting dimension to the story-telling and it was this that I most enjoyed.
It’s an amazing fantasy book, filled with adventure. I love the way Ransom Riggs writes
Very scary and thrilling reccomend 13+
AMAZING i would reccomend this to anyone who wants a thrilling but deeply chilling adventure
Vocabulary rich, descriptive and suspenseful magic!
my favourite character was emma.i would reccomend it to people who like horror stories.
Awesome!
it was interesting
I liked the book, I liked it because it was full of adventure, wonder, supernatural beings and mystery.
It was fiction, out of them all I liked Emma the best- she could conjured flame into her hand, it never burned her or set her on fire and she could attack and transfer the flame to anything.
I would recommend this book to someone who craves wonder, adventure and a good old scare sometimes
It also includes pictures in the book and you can see the people that featured in the pictures at the back of the book.
I love this book and I have watched the film, I like this book because it is really creepy, my favourite characters are Millard Nullings and the two twins (who when they take off their masks they turn whoever they are looking at into stone.) I would recommend anyone who likes creepy stories to read this one.
i like it because its creepy and i dont put it down then i finish quick
This book was very eerie. It was so amazing that my mom got the movie for me to look at too. So I had full experience of this story.
If you are looking or a more challenging read then look no further. Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children is what you should read. My faverourite character was Miss Peregrine herself. This book is fictional novel by Ransom Riggs. You should read it.
Great book, lots of creeps and an awesome storyline. Would recommend this read for 13+ since there is violence and some bad language. Much better than movie
I liked Millard the invisible boy as he was very funny spending all his years in the loop of time studying what had happened in a single day. The plot is that an evil wight is trying to destroy a time loop and eat the peculiar children so he could turn into a hollow ghast. It is quite scary. I would recommend it to young teenagers.
This book was rubbish in my opinion. But then again, I did give up only halfway through. It was old fashioned, boring, and didn't make much sense to me. I do not recommend this, but the film version is good.
This book is quite challenging to read, but with some help it was a good story, full of weird and wonderful secrets and people. Enoch is my favourite character because he can take life from one animal and give it to an inanimate object like a clay soldier - told you the story was strange.
I would recommend this book to others.
i've read this book so many times i love it so much! it is about a mysterious island, an abandoned orphanage, a strange collection of very curious photographs, and fairy tales coming true. i think i would recommend for anyone who loves mystery adventure, creepy stories and photographs. i would recommend for ages 9 and up as the photographs can be a little creepy at times
Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children is where a boy called Jacob Portman has a family tragedy. His grandfather used to tell him stories of this island and the peculiar children on it. Jacob grew up to not believe this but when a family tragedy strikes Jacob ends up going to the island and he discovers that his grandfathers stories are all true
It has swear words in, long chapters and some scary parts in it
I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries and adventure stories. The plot captures you immensely ,though it is not the kind of book you would want to read again and again.
I thought it was very creative and inspiring because it is filled to the brim with imagination!
Wow I really don’t know how to write this, the book is so fantastic! I loved the characters and their different personalities. Jacob the boys that writes the story, Ransom really makes you feel there living the moment with Jacob! After I read it I really wished that the story was true! Amazing in one word!
its kind of scary make it scarier
This book is my favourite book. It takes me to a magical world full of people unique. All of us are but the are extraordinarily unique or peculiar. It's a dark fantasy book so it would give you chills at some parts of the story . It's sequels are also amazing.
This book is a really good read but it has a few sware words. It is really funny, adventurous so I definitely recommend it.
This book was really interesting and once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. The pictures go really well with the plot and makes it more interesting. However,if you get scared easily this book won't be good for you. Also there are quite a few complicated words.
creepy horror time travel story about a boy called Jacob
It's mysterious and creepy .the best thing for horror lovers
I think others should read this book because it is quite interesting and the vintage photography is quite cool. The storyline is quite interesting and about how Jacob goes to Cairnholm and meets the peculiar children his grandfather Abraham Portman told him about when he was little. Very exciting, I enjoyed this book a lot and couldn't put it down.
good but the chapters were a bit long so the story did go on a bit if you're used to reading a short chapter at a time.
