I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban

A true story written by Malala herself for her teenage peers. Malala and her Father lived in XX and were active campaigners for the importance of education, in particular for young females. This led to Malala been shot in the face by the Taliban. This is an inspirational book that highlights how lucky we are in the UK to access an education system, something that many take for granted. Particularly topical at the moment with the Taliban regaining control.

I really enjoyed this book as it was a heart warming story and I never wanted to put it down. It was intersting to see how they operated on Malala and especially when they put a bit of her skull in her stomach! I would recommend this book to someone who likes autobiographies and stories about inspirational characters.

This is a book that I have wanted to read for ages. It tells of the factual account of Malala and her fight with the Taliban to allow girls/women get an education. It was worth the read.

This is a really great book. It is a true, yet unbelievable story. The book is about how Malala was shot for standing up for education. It keeps you wanting more and more.

You should read this book because it is life changing and it makes me realise how lucky we are. However, it is sad at some points and you won't want to read on but you have to push on because it is worth it.

Children like me should read this book because Malala is a very inspirational girl and this true story really teaches children about how fortunate we are. I really loved this book!

She is so brave and such a role model

It is a non-fiction story based on the life of a girl who lived her first 17 years in Pakistan fighting for women's rights and for free education for every boy and girl.
It's easy to read but really interesting.
It also helps to meditate on our world's problems.

I liked this book because reading this book made realise how much I take for granted everyday,freedom of speech ,religion and many more.And that is the reason I loved this book and how she stood up for education.

This book tells the story of Malala, a Pakistani girl who stood up for the rights of women and publicly spoke out against the Taliban. The book very moving, as it tells the history of Malala's mother and father, talking about their child hood and backgrounds. Her father is as out spoken as his daughter and receives multiple death threats from the Taliban, which, thankfully, are never carried out. Malala also tells the story of when she was shot in the head on October 10th 2012. Nearer the beginning of the book, it also explains the history of the Taliban and the country of Pakistan. This is one of the best books I've read in years and I think everyone aged 8+ needs to read it!!!!!!!!!

How lucky we are! You cannot but feel humble when reading this book. We take so much for granted about education, our rights to express ourselves, live without threat
of violating attacks etc. The struggles of Malala's father to build a school and strive to provide education are so far removed from the society in which we live. This is a book that raises so many moral, religious and ethical questions and challenges us as individuals to reflect on our lives and our values.

A poignant book with descriptions of the panoramic landscapes juxtaposing the slums of Swat so cinematic you can almost see them forming before your eyes. It raises interesting perspectives not just on the ultimate evil of the Taliban but of the evilness and corruption of our very own overlords, making the issues raised in the Biography seem all the more close to home. Would recommend to anyone with an interest in politics or who felt a connection with Malala's story. Would not recommend to anyone in the Taliban.

The saddest book I have EVER read but it shows how hard life out there really is and how unfortunate some countries are
