It’s London, 1876 and Hetty Feather is just a tiny baby when her mother leaves her at the Foundling Hospital. The Hospital cares for abandoned children – but Hetty must first live with a foster family until she is big enough to go to school. Life in the countryside is hard but with her ‘brothers’ Jem and Gideon, she plays imaginary games.

My favourite character was Ida because she was so kind to Hetty.
This book was brilliant, I advice it for people who like jacqueline wilson books,
and cleo series. Around age 8+. a thrilling story a real page gripper, also a fairly thick book for quick readers.
Hetty is rebellious.
It was lovely.
I especially liked Peg
i liked this book a lot! hetty feather is so ambitious and wild! it is so horrible in the foundling hospital but hetty feather is strong.
I loved this book.It was a great book and it was amazing at showing what happened to foundlings long ago.I would recommend this book for 9 -10 yr olds.
I think this is so good and a bit sad. I would not be very happy at the hospital. I definitely recommend this book.
I really enjoyed Hetty's will to stand up for her friends even though she has a be of a temper
I really liked it because of the time it was set in, and because I love the olden days. The olden days are interesting to me because it tells me about different cultures. They wore very odd clothes. They have all these different layers on. It was so hard to understand what the layers, like a petticoat, actually looked like.
Hetty was very strong. She would stand her ground, like when the matrons from the place she stayed in were very mean.
I enjoy reading about Hetty’s adventures set in olden times and imagine what is was like to live in that time.
Loved it.
If I could, I would give this book a 6 out of 5 because it had me utterly gripped from start to finish and them want to read all the rest!
If you like this book watch the series on Cbbc

I loved this book because it is very deep to the heart but funny at the same time.l liked Hetty the best because she is very daring, bold, cheeky and a unforgettable fiction able character.l would recommend this book to 8-12 year olds.
oh my days does this book have it's ups and downs. Hetty feather is a troubled young girl and this book tells you how she finds her mother. You probably won't be expecting who her mother is. I love this book.
A very emotional book. I reccomend it to children over 8.
This is my favourite book without a doubt! I loved this story about Hetty, a girl who was dropped off at the orphanage when she was a baby and things are really hard. She's always dreaming of who her mother could be. Things are even harder when the matron of the orphanage is always punishing her. But one day, Hetty decides to run away in search of someone to help her, but will she find who she truly wants? Her mother? Read this awesome tale to find out!
I loved the book because it showed us the actual life of Hetty Feather. The book also tells us about her friends and her actual mum. Her mum wanted to stay with Hetty so she decided to be a cook called Ida in the Foundling hospital.
I enjoyed this book
A great adventure story with its ups and downs
