It’s London, 1876 and Hetty Feather is just a tiny baby when her mother leaves her at the Foundling Hospital. The Hospital cares for abandoned children – but Hetty must first live with a foster family until she is big enough to go to school. Life in the countryside is hard but with her ‘brothers’ Jem and Gideon, she plays imaginary games.

THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE BOOK!!!!! This book is set in the Victorian times. A baby called Hetty got dumped at a foundling hospital, because her mother couldn't look after her. Little Hetty was sent to a foster family in the country, where she watched the circus and felt sure that the red headed lady in the pink spangles that rode a horse was her mum. When her 5th birthday came, she got sent back to the hospital, and Matron Pig face Peters and Matron Stinking Bottomly give her a very hard time. Can she survive and find her real mother? Please don't be put off by the fact that it's really old. But if it was that boring, then why would a typical 9 year old love it? I recommend this book for 8+, because it has a lot of heartbreak and drama. Hope you get time to read it, BYE!!!!!

I don't like the beginning of the story, since poor Hetty's mother has to leave her. But I like the story as it gets to the end
it is a great book and i suggest that many people read this heart warming book
It is an amazing story
I LOVED this book its so dramatic it is the first book of the 5 books!
I also recommend the other 4 sapphire battersea, emerald star, diamond and little stars!!!
I think you should read Hetty feather because it is heart warming and funny. Hetty feather has a typical childhood life, deadly enemies with Shiela. Read it to find out.
because it has an adventure story type
This book has to be one of my favourites.
I recommend this book to girls and boys, age 9+.
I think you have to like adventure and thrills, but also this is a slightly sad book, and you have to be ready to take in a few deaths.
great story,read!
It is amazing its very cheeky and funny but can also be sad
It's so funny and so adventurous it's a book for all
This book Is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.you really need to read this.It is kind of sad but it is a great summer read
This is a great book but ten it is sad at the same time. It is sad because a young girl lives in a boring gloomy house with only girls and cannot find her true parents that left her in this terrible messy house with other children. But I think a little older kids should read this book because they will understand it more better and if younger children read this book they won't know that much about this book by Jacqueline Wilson.
Hetty Feather is the best book I ever read I love the author Jacqueline Wilson she is my favourite author and I Love the illustrations by Nick Sharrat and the surprises it brings.
It's adventurous, it's imaginative, it's Hetty Feather! She's a normal girl like you and I, except that she has to go and spend 9 whole years in the dreadful, dull and horrid life in the dreary Foundling Hospital. Find out how she overcomes life and finds her true mother!
It's exciting , thrilling , and full of imagination. Well done Jacqueline Wilson!
I love this book and its so good they made it a TV show.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It has been a pleasure to read it.
it is so much fun to read about hetty's life as a foundling girl and how many friends she meets on the way to find her mother.
great story learn a lot about it
OMG! This book was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Hetty Feather is a girl who was sent to The Foundling Hospital, a hospital for children who have been taken there by their mothers as babies! This book is written, by Hetty, telling you all about her childhood, secrets, adventures, dreams and her life at The Foundling Hospital. The Hetty Feather Series have 5 books in the collection-Hetty Feather, Sapphire Battersea, Emerald Star, Diamond and Little Stars. Reading the collection in the correct order makes more sense and you won't get confused!
this book is so good but a little sad
This book couldn't have been better. I loved the names Hetty called the matrons at the Foundling Hospital. The first Hetty Feather book I read was Diamond, and that book crosses with Emerald Star. But first you need to read Hetty Feather. In Little Stars, you'll think Jem is some boy who loves Hetty, but in this book you see their love and feelings and how they really mean it.
I think this book is great because it has an amazing storyline, it is addictive and you never know what is going to happen next!
Very viction styled book and very well written
Amazing. It is such a good book and I loved the concept of the story. I would recommend this book to children aged 10+. I'm a big Jacqueline Wilson fan.
It is inspiring and you learn a lot about Victorian life!
