Really fun book with lots of surprises.

This is such a funny book that mummy read to me. I like how Mrs Silver gets tricked and keeps weighing Alfie on the scales. She doesn't know she's being tricked and that Mr Hoppy loves her so much. When mummy read me this book it made me think about what it would be like to have my own tortoise and I would make it a little house out of tortoise food.

I liked this book because in the end Mr Hoppy married Mrs Silver but he didn't tell her he switched her tortoise. The tortoise was the character in the book because he was loved the most. I would recommend this book to my swimming friend.

I thought it was really funny because I had to read the poem he wrote backwards. My favourite character was Mrs Silver because she was the one that thought the tortoise was magic. I might tell my friends to read this book.

It was funny and made me laugh

It was a fun little book to read because it was about Mr Hoppy wanted Mrs Silver to think he was the cleverest man by making her tortoise grow.
It is a sweet story I would recommend this book.

This Roald dahl book is one of my favourite stories to read.
I like it when the man has to buy all the tortoises and makes it look like the lady's tortoise has grown bigger.

Reading the words backwards was fun

I enjoyed this story but found it a little
Difficult to read. I enjoyed the bit where Mr Hoppy tricks the lady with all the tortoises.

I thought it was really funny how Mr Hoppy kept switching the tortoises.I liked Mr Hoppy’s Personality, he was a really funny and shy character.I recommend this book to people who likes Roald Dahl.

My favourite part is when he got a new owner and he was happy.

I like the ending, because the tortoise was able to go to its house.
