Deadhouse Gates is the second book in Malazan Book of the Fallen. It is an excellent story written in a very well built world. It is very dense and can be difficult to read at times. Dialogue can sometimes be written in a way which doesn't make it clear who is talking and when. Well worth the effort but effort is definitely required.
