Re-read this classic coming-of-age story set in the Black Country and loosely based on Meera Syal's childhood experiences as an Asian girl in a predominantly white British community. Beautifully written.

I would only recommend this book to people that are 13 and older because it contains inappropriate language but other than that it is a good book!
