Scratch the surface of the polished Glasgow art world and dark layers are revealed beneath – serial murders with a horrific signature. When a series of young women are discovered strangled and mutilated in a park, DCI Lorimer has to find their killer, but then the case takes a bizarre turn.

This is the first novel in the excellent DCI William Lorimer series, which is set in Glasgow. Investigating a really difficult set of murders, Lorimer is forced to work with Dr Solomon Brightman, a psychologist and criminal profiler. It’s an uneasy working relationship but as the violence escalates it’s clear the city has a major problem and the killer urgently needs to be caught.
I'd never read anything by Alex Gray before this and this story kept me guessing until the very end. I reckon it would make a really good film/TV drama. I'll definitely be looking for more books in this series!
