I have liked this book very much as talked about separate place on side was good and the other bad .This book was non fiction as it was not real.my favourite character was Bruno as he is such a nice friend. And will love to recommend this book to someone else.
Amazing
This is a book to made to tell the world how Jews were massacred in great numbers, and how the soldiers never told others what's happening, leading to this story of a commander's son to befriend a Jew. It's the perfect book for people who like fiction and history.
This book moved me. The friendship between the 2 young boys posed many interesting questions which can be discussed in the classroom and will enable the reader to gain further insight into this period of history.
It was very interesting but also sad
I like the cliffhanger at the end, it shows me how you can make new friends, even if you left one place.
loved it
It is very good but it's quite sad it is a fictional story based on the war
My favourite character in this book is Bruno because he made friends with Shmuel and helped him nearly every day
I would recommend this book to people who can cope with the parts of the book that can be a bit sad
I wouldn't recommend it to young children
Excellent writing style and insight.
I liked this book alot since it was really detailed. But the ending was very sad and shoking.
I had previously watched the movie and was expecting a heart-wrenching story, however, felt the book was lacking in this area.
Much of the sensitive content found in the film is only touched upon in the book, making the book more suitable for children, however, it is a book that should be read by older children because of the nature of the story.
It was a good read and did have me shedding a tear by the end but probably not a book I would recommend often.
This book is one of the best books I have read. It is such a sad story. Since this book was fiction my favourite character is Maria ( the house maid ). I would definitely recommend this amazing book to someone else because this book gives you a lot of information for what happened in ww2 and how the Germans treated the Jews.
This is a story about a boy called Bruno. His father is the comandant who worked for Hitler during WW2.
The book shows the story of Bruno and his Best Friend For Life, Shmuel who was a jew on the other side of the fence at Out-With.
I like this book
This book was very interesting showing two completely different lives of two boys. It was sad at the end
This is one of my all time favourite books and has such a touching storyline. My favourite characters were definitely Bruno and Shmuel as they both went through a lot and faced several challenges together as the story when on. The plot of this book is quite sad so I would rate it 11+. I would DEFINITELY give this book a 5 stars and even more as it it one of the best books I have ever read!
this book i thought it was very sad and made me very emotinol
bruno definatley
because it made me realise what went on in those days
yes i would it is very heart breaking but it is really worth it a read
this book was sad and has a very interesting story .
Heartbreaking
This is an extraordinary book. It has a strong story and characterisation, plus a depth of meaning so that children are protected somewhat from the reality of the historic events but made it almost unbearable for me as an adult. I loved the exploration of the experience of a child on the other side of world events. Bruno's privilege made him innocent and become an unwitting victim too. I recommend it to any child of 10 or above.
I think it was sad because a boy had to move house close to where his father works and when he is having a walk he saw a boy wearing striped pyjamas and he looked hungry and sad so the other boy got him some food and said to the boy how about you get me a pair of those pyjamas and i can play with you so that is what he did.
That is my favourite part of the story
i found this book quite sad but it taught me a bit more about the Holocaust. plus this book had a really good relationship between two characters, Shmuel and Bruno.
Interesting. I think that Bruno is a very emotional character that gives you a very good insight in the life of a boy caught in the middle of World War II.
I think that Bruno was to adventurous and it lead him to his death. I think that they didn’t deserve to die but the book was set in the Second World War when many innocents died. I would recommend this book but it would be very upsetting for some readers.
I thought this book was really good because it was sad and based on real events. My favourite character was Shmuel because he was kind to Bruno and became his friend even though Bruno was the enemy's son.
I would recommend this book to older children that have more understanding of the Holocaust and also anyone who wants to watch the film.
I like it because its very informative. I like reading true stories.
i thought it was sad. It was also disturbing because it was based on real events. My favourite character was Shmuel because at first he was all alone and then he found Bruno. I recommend this book to children older than 10 years.
Only one word for this book: Emotional.
Boy in the striped pyjamas is a very good book, realistic and explaining ww2 in a completely new way.
Heart warming.
So sad i
Cried.
