Introducing Miss Ottoline Brown, an exceptionally inquisitive Mistress of Disguise, and her partner in crime, Mr Munroe. Ottoline and the Yellow Cat is a quirky mystery-adventure from Chris Riddell, author of the award-winning Goth Girl books.
No puzzle is ever too tricky for the two of them to solve . . .
Ottoline lives in a stylish apartment in Big City with a small hairy creature called Mr Munroe. Together they look after the Brown family’s eclectic collections – and dabble in a spot of detective work. So they are the first to the scene of the crime when a string of high-society dog-nappings and jewel thefts hits Big City.
Ottoline (who luckily has a diploma from the Who-R-U Academy of Disguise) and Mr Munroe go undercover – and expose an ingenious scam masterminded by furry feline crook, the Yellow Cat . . .
Winner of the Nestle Prize, and crammed with black-and-white illustrations, Ottoline and the Yellow Cat is a perfectly-packaged and collectable book from the 2015–2017 Children’s Laureate.
Though they can be enjoyed in any order, continue the adventures of Ottoline and Mr Munroe with Ottoline Goes to School.

It was very intriguing.
I love this story because they find a criminal that is a cat stealing dogs.
One of the best Ottoline books
I liked Mr Munro best
I thought it was really good, it's fun my. Mr Monroe is hairy. The yellow cat was rude and wanted to sneak in toOttolines house and steal things but Ottoline tricked the cat and made the cat go I to the cupboard with all her odd shoes.
I love this book the yellow cat gets busted so bad it hilarious I would recommend this to people who like comedy and pranks
I really liked one of the characters called Mr Munroe because he is the one who makes it fun and he is really, really funny.
It was ok but I didn’t enjoy it that much. I prefer funnier stories
Loved the story but could have been longer with more descriptive words.
I read this story over and over and over again - once I read the whole book in one sitting!
Visually exciting and a fun story. I enjoyed this book and think children at KS1 and lower KS2 would like it too.
It's a good book. There is adventuring in it.
It was a very good book. I only found middle part boring but interesting!
I liked every bit of this book! I liked the part when Ottoline and her friends set traps to catch the cat burglar.
I liked Mr Monroe's character the best because of his big hair, which reminded me of Cousin It from the Adams Family. He was very brave for going to the top of Pepperpot Tower to look out into the rain.
I liked that they solved the mystery without parents.
I enjoyed this book because it is a mystery story and I like mystery storys
It was about a girl who solved mysteries.
this book is one of my fave books
I liked this book because Mr Munroe disguised himself as a dog and the funny outfits that Ottoline wears. I would tell my friends to read it to!
My favourite characters are mr munroe and ottoline as they solve a mystery.
I loved the illustrations and the characters
It was the greatest fiction novel I have ever read. Ottoline worked hard to solve a mystery. Everyone should read it.
There was a clever plan and the yellow cat got caught

This book was fun, I like how the pictures are part of the story.
This book is a clever mystery about missing pets. The illustrations are fabulous. I recommend this book to people who enjoy intelligent and amusing reads.
I read this with my daughter and we really enjoyed the quirky storyline and Riddell’s unique style of illustration. I’m not sure she quite understood some of the finer jokes, as I felt they were more aimed at me than her.
There was a gangster cat who had lots of gangster friends who were lost. They played bingo and then when they went to sleep the gangster cat went to steal some jewels because Mr Monroe had given her a map to ottolines house. It was actually a trap!
I loved ottoline because it was funny.
This wrong-worded book is flabagasting. I liked it because it was funny, tricky and moving.
