Ottoline and the Yellow Cat

A combination of a graphic novel and a normal chapter book, this will appeal to so many children. A young girl is left to be cared for by her strange hairy creature friend whilst her parents continue on their world travels. When dogs are stolen from the streets Ottoline has to solve the mystery!

I like the characters in it.

I love this book because everything at the beginning feels like it is a normal day but on a daily activity Mr Munroe finds two posters.Then real mystery begins.Ottoline finds a free lapdog warehouse selling dogs and the owner of the store is a cat who has stolen the lapdogs.Then Ottoline makes a plan and then Mr Munroe pretends to be lapdog and gets bought by the bear. Mr Munroe makes a map for the cat but is a trap. After the yellow cat falls right into the trap and everything else is normal again.

My favourite part was when Mr. Munroe brushed Ottoline's hair

Beautifully drawn, as one would expect from an illustrator, interesting characters and a good plot. I found it...a bit too whimsical I think? There's so much random and out of place that the illustrations distracted me from the plot - lamp shades changing, references to different pages, unexplained animals. I feel like lots of the class will enjoy it though, so a good addition to the class library.

This book was recommended to me by a child. This is my first ever Chris Riddell book that I have read and I was very impressed. In this book there is a little girl called Ottoline and she finds out that lapdogs are going missing and there are robbery's that follow soon after. This book took an interesting turn and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

His drawings are very very good and I like that he came to Hexham Book Festival and showed us how to draw like him

I love this story because they find a criminal that is a cat stealing dogs.

I liked Mr Munro best

I thought it was really good, it's fun my. Mr Monroe is hairy. The yellow cat was rude and wanted to sneak in toOttolines house and steal things but Ottoline tricked the cat and made the cat go I to the cupboard with all her odd shoes.

I love this book the yellow cat gets busted so bad it hilarious I would recommend this to people who like comedy and pranks

I really liked one of the characters called Mr Munroe because he is the one who makes it fun and he is really, really funny.

It was ok but I didn’t enjoy it that much. I prefer funnier stories

I liked every bit of this book! I liked the part when Ottoline and her friends set traps to catch the cat burglar.

I liked Mr Monroe's character the best because of his big hair, which reminded me of Cousin It from the Adams Family. He was very brave for going to the top of Pepperpot Tower to look out into the rain.

I liked that they solved the mystery without parents.

I liked this book because Mr Munroe disguised himself as a dog and the funny outfits that Ottoline wears. I would tell my friends to read it to!
