A wonderfully amusing book about a boy and his mammoth. We used it to assist in writing a set of instructions that were creative with our children.

It is a very nice book. Leonardo was able to read independently. The interesting thing is that the book is partly like an instruction and has a storyline.

How to wash a woolly mammoth is an instructional book about a little girl who tries to give her mammoth a bath. This book is great for engaging an audience, it has easy language written in short sentences and lots of bold and fun illustrations. It is a very simple way to get children to start understanding instructions and doing things step by step. Pupils can be encouraged to copy the story and follow the steps by washing items in the classroom. They can then go on to write their own instructions for something of their choosing, and then see if they can carry these out too. It is therefore also a good activity for evaluation because if they cannot perform their step by step guide, they'll have to figure out why and rewrite the instructions. Pupils can be encouraged to do this individually to improve writing skills but can also perform the instructions together, encouraging group interaction.
I found this book very funny especially all the ways the girl tried to get the mammoth into the bath and how he get dirty again.
I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to share it with my friends
I liked that the girl was washing the big mammoth I really think some body should read it as is interesting
The thing I liked the most about this book was when the mammoth got soap in his eyes and ran out of the tub and then fell into a muddy puddle.
I like it when the woolly mammoth gets soap in its eyes and hides up the tree.
The woolly mammoth was lured in with a cake when it didn’t want a bath. I loved that bit.
I thought it waS a bit funny. I thought why would they instruct us about washing a woolly mammoth, even though they didn’t exist. But when I read the book it gave us an idea about the do’s and don’ts of being with a woolly mammoth.I would recommend this to my friend.
When it splashed the mud on the girl it was good
This is a fun book
I love it a lot.
