Beach Party was a nice change of pace from R. L. Stine's other works, namely Goosebumps. As part of the Point Horror series, the audience is teenagers and young adults, rather than children. The plot of the book involved two young girls, Karen and Ann-Marie, who are invited to a fun Summer beach party. But soon after, the fun of the Summer begins to curdle as murder, revenge, and mystery make their entrance.
I thought the pacing of the book was well executed, though I didn't care too much for the ending and reveal of the killer. As far as Stine novels go, this was an enjoyable digestible piece of horror for the Summer.
