‘But it’s true’, Tom shouted. ‘It was a real lion, I know it was’. No-one believes Tom when he says he has seen a lion – padding around the orchard with a string of sausages in its mouth! No-one, that is, except for Clare, the cleverest girl in the class. Together, she and Tom plan to prove his story is true – by catching the lion!

I decided to read some animal-themed books for a child at school and picked this up by chance. I have to say that this is the first Michael Morpurgo book that I’ve read and actually liked and enjoyed. Liked the characters of Tom and Clare best and loved the scene where they walked down the Main Street. Think I might read it during Library time 📚
I really liked the ending.
I would recommend this book to Children aged 6+.
I loved it because the lion is friendly.
Another incredible Morpurgo title and one that is easily accessible to younger audiences and doesn’t reference war which I have many younger kids shying away from where I work.
I love the way the family dynamic is brought to life and the way he gets you to feel so attached to Tom as a character.
Great humour too.
A really great introduction to Morpurgo titles
It was a funny book. The lion eats Tom's lion and nobody trust poor Tom. Fun to read. I recommended this book to everyone.
This book is quite short but very extraordinary and creative. It is about a boy named Tom. He has found a lion but no one believes him. Until one day he managed to get hold of the friendly old pussy-cat and show everyone he wasn't lying. I recommend this to people who like animals and are starting to read books nearer to 100 pages (this book has 76 pages).
I thought it was great and very funny. Also it was quite good to read.
This book was fiction and my favourite character was Sam.
I liked it because it was about animals.and I love animals.
Like it
It was quite interesting and I enjoyed the story.
Fantastic story! I really like Michael Morpurgo as a writer and this book was just as good as others I have read.
I really enjoyed reading this book and read it in just two nights !
I loved reading about how no one wold believe that Tom had seen and found a lion. It was really nice how he looked after the lion and how everyone had to believe him in the end.
This was a good book. I really like the author Michael Morpurgo. It was about a boy who lived on a farm. He went searching for some firewood and saw a lion but no none believed him when he told them he saw one. The book is called the sausage lion because the lion ate some sausages. My favourite character was Tom who was the main character.
I would recommend this book.
I would recommend this book to you because it has an investigation to solve and if you like books with investigations in it you will like this one.
I liked Clare the best because she was smart
It had lots of description. I am glad Tom was proved right in the end.
A boy called Tom finds a lion in his garden but when he tells his parents they don't believe him so Tom proves that he saw a lion by going missing from his parents and making them worried then Tom goes to the police station with the lion and his friend Clare an hour later Toms parents arrive he proves he saw the lion because his parents saw the lion at the police station

I am cry a double after I read this book

It's a good book but I wasn't very engaged by it.
A nice story!
It is fun and weird because there is a friendly lion.
very entertaining
This book is unpredictable.....and surprising!
I think it's a really good read with a happy ending.
It helps you to believe other people.
I really enjoyed this book. I think Michael Morpurgo is a great writer :)
Once you start to read you will feel that you should carry on reading to find the real sausage lion.
You'll understand how Tom was trying to tell others about his imagination of his "real" lion.
