Varjak Paw is a Mesopotamian Blue kitten. He lives high up in an old house on a hill. He’s never left home, but then his grandfather tells him about the Way – a secret martial art for cats. Now Varjak must use the Way to survive in a city full of dangerous dogs, cat gangs and, strangest of all the mysterious Vanishings.

I really enjoyed the author’s writing style in this book and the relationships between the characters. I loved how Varjak’s character grew and strengthened as he experienced the outside world and learnt The Way of his ancestor. A wonderful story told from the animal’s point of view.

Varjak paw is one of my favorite personal reads. It is very suspencful and I love to just snugle up[ in bed and read it.I have read it 7 times but it never gets boring.
I liked this book and enjoyed embarking on Varjak's adventures on the city streets. I enjoyed the personalities of the various cats, especially Hollie and Tam. The book has many themes including friendships, family, relationships, loyalty and equality. One of my favourite relationships in the book is the one between Varjak and the Elder Paw and the respect they had for each other.
I loved this thrilling, emotional fantastic book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tale. When a house pet has to follow the tales of his ancestor hunters to save the family and cats of the city from the “Disappearings”, it’s up to Varjak, the one that the others tease for being different to do to the outside world and try to save the family. An easy read, a good ending and lots to enjoy in a classroom!
So, I'm late to this party... Still undecided whether I liked it or not!
I love Varjak Paw. I like this book because he looks like my cat.
This book is very adventurous. My favourite character was Varjak because he knows the way. The book was a bit sad because some cats were killed and stuffed. But the ending was happy.
I would recommend this book to my friends.
Varjak really want to go outside the contessa’s house and have a lot of adventures like it’s ancestor, Jalal.
Found it a bit scary and not so interesting.
It was really good as Varjak learns the way of Jalal and proves his family that he is a real mesopotamian blue. My favourite character was Holly
