THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL is now a major motion picture from Netflix, starring Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett, and many more!

A dark and enchanting fantasy adventure for those who prefer fairytales with a twist… The first in the bestselling series. Every four years, two girls are kidnapped from the village of Gavaldon. Legend has it these lost children are sent to the School for Good and Evil, the fabled institution where they become fairytale heroes or villains. With her glass slippers and devotion to good deeds, Sophie knows she’ll join the ranks of past students like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Snow White at the School for Good. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her shapeless black dresses and wicked black cat, seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil. But the two girls soon find their fortunes reversed – Sophie’s dumped in the School for Evil to take Uglification, Death Curses and Henchmen Training, while Agatha finds herself in the School for Good, thrust among handsome princes and fair maidens for classes in Princess Etiquette and Animal Communication. But what if the mistake is actually the first clue to discovering who Sophie and Agatha really are?

I enjoyed this book a lot.

This book is about two girls -Sophie and Agatha - who get kidnapped by a mysterious shadow from their town in Gavaldon and get taken to the School for Good and Evil. It is quite clear that dark Agatha would go into evil school and pink-loving Sophie would go into good, but things get mixed up, and when Sophie turns into a Witch, things go haywire! My favourite character in this book is Agatha, as she revives Sophie after she got stabbed by the Storian, despite how she nearly killed Agatha herself. I would recommend this book to people who like mythical creatures as there are loads of creatures like werewolves, pixies, nymphs and dragons. Three words to describe this book are intense, as you don’t know what is happening next, mythical, as there are soo many different wizards, witches and fairy tale characters as well as the best, because this is my favourite book ever!!!

I thought it was good but they shouldn't put the whole book in suspense as it then gets a bit boring. My favourite character is Sophie as she tries to escape from the school of evil and tries to get into the school for good. Every time she tries to escape the pink dress turns black showing her destiny is evil. Yes i would recommend this book to someone if they like mysteries.

I liked it because it was very exciting and I was kept on the edge of my seat. The story has so many plot twists and I think the best part is when Agatha kisses Sophie to save her from death.

At first I found it quite boring. However, as I read along it interested me even more. There’s 6 books in total in this series,I’ve read 3.Its about a girl called Sophie, and her best friend Agatha. They live in Gavaldon until one day something occurs and they go to a school for good and evil…... I would recommended this to people who like fantasy and an adventure.I liked Agatha the best.

Agatha is my favourite character because she is clever, courageous and she is a true friend.
I enjoyed the story about a school which taught the characters from fairytales and kept the balance between good and evil.
I would recommend this book to someone else, it is about true friendship.

It is fictional book based on two friends Sophia and Agatha who are taken to the school for good and evil. I like Agatha because she is very kind to animals and does everything right for everyone. She is smart too. I found it very interesting that the school master is actually 1000 years old.

This was an interesting book recommended to me by a cousin. My favourite character was Agatha as she was so thoughtful and a loyal friend to Sophie even through the most difficult moments. It was a curious concept as you will discover if you read it, but I won't give too much away! I think you will enjoy this book if you like action, adventure and magic, and I would probably go for a 8+ age level if you are a strong reader, but older for some people.

Really? 488 pages for that ending?
I mean, it was great, but slightly disappointing. The last 80 pages were full of action, and actually had me excited for the characters, which was a first experience. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really enjoy it that much.

I found it a little basic, and the characters irritated me greatly. I despised Sophie, the entitled brat-and her perfectly imperfect’ friend, Agatha, was almost as bad. It was such a cliche read, and the storyline was incredibly predictable and became increasingly dull as it progressed. The ending wasn’t my favourite, but it obviously set the sequel up nicely: the sequel, in which, that I won’t be reading. The style of writing wasn’t my cup of tea, and the use of the unnecessary capitalisation of speech and frequent isolated paragraphs became ineffective by the third chapter.

3 stars- a little bit of a let down, which was a shame.

PS: about that ending…why did Sophie and Agatha suddenly share a kiss? I mean, fair enough, I suppose? It was quite sudden and completely out of the blue, which was just complicated.
