The Bauldelaire children got a photo of their parents and some other people in front of a mill so they go looking for it. A woman hypnotises Klaus and Violet tries to snap him out of it. Count Ofal is in disguise again. Mr Poe takes them to a boarding school.
As you might guess, the Baudelaire orphans only experience unfortunate events again and again and again. The orphans are sent to someone with an unpronounceable name, something along the lines of Mr Bfdhgghg, and are forced to work at a horrible wood mill. Klaus is hypnotised by one of Count Olaf's assistants in disguise but eventually they get everyone to believe that Shirley, the optician's assistant, is actually Count Olaf. In a normal book, Count Olaf would go to jail and they would live happily ever after, but this is not a normal book and Count Olaf will come back.
I thought that it was very funny that sir had smoke allover his head so that you couldn't see his face either I also thought that it was very funny that sunny did a swordfight with her teeth.
I thought this book was very good and extremely mysterious as it kept me guessing until the very end and I enjoyed the way Lemony Snickett narrated the story throughout! My favourite characters were the Baudelaires: Violet because she was always inventing things, Klaus, because he liked to read lots and lots of books and Sunny, because she was very funny in the way she spoke and the fact that she loved to bite things! I would definitley recommend this book for anyone who enjoys books that are both funny and mysterious!
Count Olaf comes later in the small novel which gives it countless suspense (get it).
I loved this book and loved the bit where Phil had his leg chopped off.I liked Violet and Sunny.I would reccomend this book to someone afraid of nothing.
It was a fun book with a sad ending. My favourite character is Sunny.
The book was alright probably because I watched the series before I read this which I realise now was a massive mistake because I had ruined my enjoyment of reading this book that had many plot twists and action in it. However I would definitely recommend this book.
I liked this book but some Lemony Snicket books go on a bit, I recommend you read the whole series, it's a great mystery. I love the hypnosis in this book which is why I gave it 4/5.
Yes
Very good. Count olaf had a good plan but with a bad plot.
Lots of plot twists but would reveal more things about other characters
In the book I was sometimes
This book of The series of unfortunate events is fantastic! My favourite character is Charles
In this book, the siblings are in the mill and work there then Klaus is hypnotized and breaks a fellow workers leg he is made to saw someone in half but is hypnotized in time and stops and sees the evil hypnotist into the fire.
This book was brilliant because it had some funny parts. I couldn't put the book down because it was so exciting. In this story the children had to survive the Lumber Mill where they had to scrape bark off of trees, work mechanical machines and wake up to clanging pots. It was miserable for them!
I loved it it was my favourite one so far so good to me.
Great book
I enjoyed this book because I like the characters.
I liked it because it didn't have a happy ending and it was interesting and exciting.
I like the bit when Count Olaf says he is Shirly.
My favorite character was Violet Baudelaire - the oldest Baudelaire orphan - because she is quick to think, loves to invent things and cares for her younger siblings. I would definitely recommend it to someone else because it's packed full of adventure and mystery.
Excellent use of hypnotism!
It is about 3 orphans who keep getting attacked by count Olaf
This book is amazing!
I thought this book was very dark since ya know, Miss Orwell gets killed.. BY A SAW
It was a very good book since there were a lot of mystery and adventure in this book. The person who wrote this book is Lemony Snicket who is a very good author I think that my favorite character is Violet because she is witty as well as smart, and also inventive. I would recommend this book to people who like adventurous mystery. But you might get a bit sad at the end after something terrible happens and an arm is lost
It is full of disaster
I would really recommend this book as it is so mysterious and adventurous. You should really read this as well as the whole series.
Good Story but what happens when the Baudelaires work at a unusual Lumbermill that feeds their workers gum for lunch?
