A summer to remember…

A love to last a lifetime…

Stranded in Rome, with all planes grounded due to volcanic ash, Callum gratefully accepts a lift back to London with a friend-of-a-friend who’s on her way home after a European road trip in a campervan.

But when he meets her, his heart plummets – she’s Emma, his ex, The ex, and he can’t be stuck in a van with her.

When Emma sees Callum again, she’s horrified. It’s taken so many years to heal her heart – she really doesn’t want to spend the next few days in close quarters with him.

As they embark on the drive of a lifetime, it begins to feel as though fate might have had a hand in reuniting them. But understanding what happened in the past and coming to terms with the present isn’t easy. Can the gift of time – and forced proximity – bring them back together again?

A gorgeous romantic comedy set against the beautiful sights of Italy and France, perfect for fans of Beth O’Leary and Mhairi McFarlane

‘Clever and funny with a sparkling and heartfelt love story, Jo proves once again why she’s the queen of page-turning, feel-good romance’ Catherine Walsh

‘…pacy and funny and romantic… Every single character leapt off the page, and it sparkled with wit and warmth. A triumph of a rom com.’ Clare Swatman

‘Such a warm, witty book … The love story was gorgeous – such brilliant energy and chemistry’ Kristen Bailey

Not the kind of book that I would normally read but I did enjoy this book very much. I liked the story of two ex's who were stuck aboard and they were both trying to return back to the UK. Both Callum and Emma both have to travel through Europe due to a disaster and Callum was not able to fly home. He had contacted a friend who puts him touch with someone who is driving through Europe. He was shocked that it was his ex who was driving Emma who he had split up a few years ago.

They had to travel in a van for a few hours to get back to the UK. It was awkward at first for them but as they are travelling through Europe they start developing strong emotional connections for one another. I loved the way the Author structured this story by having a chapter based each on both Emma and Callum. Both lead very different lives since they split up. The author had done a wonderful job of developing the characters and setting the scene of travelling through Europe.

I loved the part where they stayed at a monastery along with other guests and they had to pretend they were a married couple. During the journey they get to know each other and they become very close. I loved the plot and twist to this adventurous story. Highly recommend this book
