Book 1 of a new series by Joy Ellis, one of my favourite authors! When Ellie McEwan wakes up in hospital days after a bad car accident she finds she can see coloured lights around people – their auras – and has to learn to manage and understand them. In due course a sceptical DCI Bob Foreman asks Ellie if she can help his investigation into the murders of three women after his key witness has disappeared. The police can’t find anything to connect the women but each has been found with their hands crushed and mutilated. But by assisting the police Ellie is put firmly in the sights of a brutal killer. All the characters in this are interesting and the premise behind the plot (seeing auras) adds another dimension to the story. Well-paced and gripping I couldn't give it anything less than 5 Stars!
