NOT one of Emma Carroll's better efforts, but, still, this a good historical fiction book, and I really want to discover why Houdini died! He was only a few years older than my parents!

Excellent historical fiction, weaving in interesting facts about the life of Houdini. Great world building, but despite the historical backdrop, kept fresh with characters breaking the stereotypical moulds. Plenty of moments of tension, though this could have been pushed a little further, and some characters could have been slightly more rounded. But overall an excellent book.

Another brilliant example of historical fiction from Emma Carroll. Learning about Harry Houdini was really interesting- I did lots of googling as I read the book. I really enjoyed the mystery unfolding and the development of each of the characters along the way.
