Enjoyed the book!

A enjoyable read

I think there are 3 books in the series ( a trilogy ) . I really can't wait to read the next 2 books , Subtle Knife and Amber Spyglass . The whole story is full of cunning plots and unexpected twists - a super entertaining read !!!

Amazing book ! The storyline is amazing and I really enjoyed reading it. One of my all - time favourites . Once I started reading , I really couldn't stop ! I would recommend this book to everyone ! My favourite character was Pantalimon as he was super caring and was always there for Lyra . The story is about how Lyra leaves Jordan College in the custody of and evil woman , with the plan to use her for evil research . But Lyra escapes , and has a great adventure on the
way ... Phillip Pullman is an awesome author and has written the story really , really well .

I thought it was extraordinary. My favourite character was Iorek Byrnison the armoured bear. But I think this book is more for 11 year olds because there is lots of killing and gruesome deaths. I would definitely recommend it.

Best classic book I’ve ever read!

It was an amazing book, recommended to me by my mum, and I loved it! I particularly liked all the deamons, especially Pantolaimon! My favourite thing in the whole book was the alethiometer, and I wish they were real, and that I had one.

I love this book and it has a lot of blood and guts!

This was a very good and interesting book that is just so amazing. It is definitely a favourite for me and I deeply recommend it. It’s such a great book and when I started reading it I couldn’t put it down.

This was a really good book and really interesting story line.

I do not really like the content but the reason for the 4 stars is because of how th author writes this book. I recommend this book to ages 8 and above.

Fabulous

This is not a book I would have read if it had not been on a list to complete. However, I did enjoy listening to this on Audible and I was pleasantly surprised by being drawn into the story by the main character and her journey.

This was a really gripping book. I liked Pantalaimon best.

An amazing book, you will really enjoy it, especially if you have read 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings'. I was so excited to see if the quest was going to be successful, and I completely adored the polar bear. I am extremely close to my pet cat, and I have always believed that cats were my best friends. I would really love to live in a world where we all have have animal daemons.

Good plot lines. Liked how they put the plot together. Characters explained and introduced well. Setting described with lots of detail.

This fiction book is very exciting my favourite character is pantolimon because always there for Lyra and they shar3 such a bueatiful friendship. There’s lots of interesting chapters some funny some bone chilling and some that seem to go on forever and some that seem to go by in a flash. If your really Squamish it might be for you as there’s the odd bit of blood but for someone whose a bit Squamish themselves it’s not to bad. 4/5 stars would recommend especially to fantasy fun lovers can’t wait to read the subtle knife (the next book in the seris) fun fact some people think it’s a trilogy but there’s actually 5 book northern lights, the subtle knife, the amber spyglass, the beautiful savage and the book of dust (not sure if that’s the exact order of the last two)

This was a very interesting book with lots of plot twists and amazing chapters some funny some sad some bone chilling! My favourite character was pantalimon because he’s always there for Lyra and they have such a sweet friendship I would recommend this book to anyone ten or over as it’s got lots of tricky words like fathomless it’s also a bit scary with the odd bit of blood so if your really Squamish it might not be for you but for someone who is a bit Squamish it wasn’t that bad would definitely recommend for fantasy lovers

I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. I really enjoyed the concept of each human having a 'demon' and the idea of a world on the other side of the northern lights.

Despite having watched the two BBC series adaptations of 'Northern Lights' and 'Subtle Knife' I was hesitant at the start when reading Northern Lights knowing exactly what was going to happen. However, it did not take long before Pullman's writing had me hooked and I couldn't put it down. Pullman creates powerful relationships and more delicate intricacies and emotions amongst a multitude of characters expertly. The story itself is captivating and absorbing, leaving me constantly in awe of Lyra's courage and bravery in the face of adult's stupidity and powers beyond her imagination.

It took a while to get in too. I wanted to read the sequel after all.

This was a very enjoyable fiction book. I really enjoyed reading about Lyra and Pantalaimon and their journey north. My favourite part was when she met the bear called Iorek Byrnison.

I would recommend this book to someone as the book is full of adventure with lots of twits and turns.
