A classic Charlie and Lola picture book about fussy eating. Perfect for difficult dinner times!
Lola will not peas. In fact she won’t eat carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, cabbage or baked beans. And she will absolutely not ever NEVER eat a tomato. But when Charlie explains that peas are actually green drops from Greenland, and carrots are really orange twiglets from Jupiter, even Lola is tempted to clear her plate…
Told with true Lauren Child style, this warm and funny picture book will make dinner time fun for even the fussiest of eaters!

It's a fun book.
Enjoyed the alternative names for foods
I really loved this book. It is a non fiction one. My favourite character was Charlie because he tricked Lola into eating some stuff that she didn't like. I picked the book from the library because it was big and red and because it looked nice.
nice

I liked this book because she was very fussy eating food, and she didn't like tomatoes but called them "moonsquirters". I also liked it because they gave funny names to food.

I liked the end of the story because Lola ended up eating all of the food but it was Charlie who wouldn't eat the tomato.
My favourite character is Lola because she is a girl like me. But I like Charlie too because he's a good big brother and he eats his food like a good boy.

I have the audio cd of this so I recognised the story. It is a good trick.
Great for trying new food!

Fiction, I like best when she said a tomato, and yes it is a moonsquirter, you didn’t think that they were tomato’s did you Charlie?
I like the Lola calls tomatoes moon squirrels. That’s the funny part.
My favourite bit is at the end when Lola tricks Charlie back about the tomatoes.
