The HILARIOUS new novel and the year’s most perfect festive gift – from million-copy bestselling author David Baddiel
It used to be the most WONDERFUL time of the year, but for years Christmas has been taken over by Winterzone. All the things that made Christmas special are gone: the human connection, the baubles passed down through generations, even the rubbish cracker jokes. Instead, Christmas is run by robots, while 3D holograms of Santa Claus called Santavatars check if you’ve been naughty or nice – and on Christmas Eve, all of the presents are delivered by ZoneDrones instead of Santa’s reindeer! But when they stumble on a curious clue, eleven-year-old Etta and her friend Monty find themselves thrown into a fight to bring back Christmas. Racing against time and against the might of Winterzone, they must find the real Santa – before the true meaning of the festive season is lost forever . . . TweetReviews
My favourite character was bushy the little elf. I would definitely recommend it as it’s a good book
A little boring but funny
It was absorbing to read! The author is a stunning writer! My favourite character is Etta because she is obliging and responsible!
I loved this book because my favourite festival is Christmas, and David Baddiel is one of my favourite authors because he is very funny in all his books!
Loved this book. For any confident readers
Etta could not touch or feel Santa since the Santa at her house was not real ,it was a hologram
My favorite characters were Etta and Monty.
My favourite parts were when they escaped from Bry and saved christmas.
Great story and fantastic for winter!
Good book for Christmas or any time really, looking into the future of what Christmas could be like with more technology. But is it all for the better or worse?
In this book Etta and her friend Monty try and revive the true spirit of christmas.
Love the idea of a story with a modern twist but it just didn't appeal to me. You should read it for yourself and find out if it appeals to you!
Great book
i loved it
I enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes David baddiel/David Walliams
I like the idea that Christmas has been taken over by the company Winterzone and it's up to Etta to find the real Santa and restore the real Christmas. I didn't always like the narrator in the story.
Funny and very interesting, with an unexpected plot twist!
This book is about a company trying to destroy Christmas and how 2 children go about saving it but fixing it. I loved when the girl went undercover by pretending to be on the bad side then did a switch. What I didn’t like was the family meeting because I found it boring. I’d recommend this book to those who love the funny side.
Very predictable
I thought it was really good because i like the story.
Really funny read, great for the Autumn term. A bit of a dig at multi national online shopping sites cashing in on Christmas without true authenticity.
