A fantastic book that certainly captivates. The characters draw you in as the story weaves into a finale that leaves you happy (although there are many tears along the way!).
My favourite character was a girl called hope ,because she was very inspirational and brave .
I would recommend this book to people aged 6-14 .I think it was fiction .
It interested me because ,there is a duel point of view ,but in the middle of the book the 2 different characters meet ,they become friends and share there past adventures.
My favourite character was probably Oliver or Darroch. It seems so amazing that all of that happened just because of one wish.
The book follows the journey of Hope, a young girl living in a world where colour has been stolen by the evil Emperor, leaving everything in a bleak, grey existence. Hope, as her name suggests, embodies the last spark of resistance in this darkened world. Her quest to restore colour and joy becomes a symbolic fight against tyranny, where every hue reclaimed represents a victory over despair. The characters are well-drawn, with Hope standing out as a particularly strong and relatable protagonist. Her determination and bravery are inspiring, and her moments of doubt make her feel authentic. The supporting characters, from the mysterious allies she meets along the way to the sinister forces opposing her, are equally well-crafted, adding depth and complexity to the story. While the book is primarily aimed at younger readers, its themes are universal, and its storytelling is sophisticated enough to appeal to adults as well. The pacing is brisk, and the plot twists keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. There are moments of tension and peril, but they are balanced by scenes of warmth and humour, making for a well-rounded reading experience.
I like this book because it is very magical. I recommend this book for fantasy lovers.
I did not enjoy this book as i found it quite boring and hard going.
I would not recommend this book.
My favourite character was Hope, although Sandy and Odd were really kind. The Book had lots of twists and turns in it and magic galore!
This book is full of magic and enjoyment. When a necromancer steals all colour from the world everyone starts to lose hope. Then a miracle child is born with the power to turn anything she touches into colour.
really captivating and enjoyable
He is such a great author if you enjoy magic! An evil necromancer has removed all colour from the world and on the night that Darroch wishes for colour to be brought back, a baby girl is born in colour. Hope is her name and she has to hide her colour from the necromancer until she finds a way to return colour to the world. Aimed at 9+
