A powerful verse novel about abuse and activism in a highly prestigious co-educational school.

I picked up this book as I thought it would complement a couple of units we study at school: 'Run Rebel' and 'Poetry: Being Human, Being Heard.' It is a verse novel about the power of voice and how young people can inspire meaningful change. It interweaves topics of misogyny, sexual harassment and environmental issues. The writer uses some beautiful imagery to describe the growing power of the activists' voices and I thought the verse form lent itself beautifully to the content of the book.
This is the first book that I've picked up in a long time. I opened it, I loved it and within 3 hours I had finished the entire book. The way that Reid has chosen to write this book in verse really inspires you to follow along with the story pulling you in really making you feel like you are fighting along side the main characters. I couldn't recommend this enough.
My second verse novel and it was lovely to read. Important themes in prose that flowed. I read it very quickly and enjoyed it.
