This is a great adventure book with a feisty female main character. It has an enticing opening and the idea of Cara discovering that she has her own dragon, which has always been speaking in her head, is a good one. The book explores the idea of best friend vs groups of friends and trust in a subtle and meaningful way. This is something that lots of primary children struggle with.
