Meet Stuntboy.
He’s the newest superhero in town. Or at least in his own head. He’ll save you from baddies like Herbert Singletary The Worst and the Frets. Or at least he’ll TRY to. And maybe someone will end up saving him too…
From two superheroes, 2021 CILIP Carnegie Medal winning author Jason Reynolds and super illustrator Raul the Third, comes a never-before-seen tale featuring acts of daring and courage… and one mysterious cat.

So funny. I would definitely recommend this to other children. Lots of great facts too.
Absolutely loved it. This is my first Jason Reynolds’s book. Just wondering how I can get my hands on number two… Loved the characters, the sparkling text, the illustrations, the theme tune introductions (and how they should be played)…the misconceptions… the play on words…Loved it. 🦸🏿♂️
Fun book with deeper messages for boys who love reading.
My favourite character is Stuntboy
I would definitely recommend this to other people
While not strictly a graphic novel, this book has a lot of (black and white) pictures in it, so may appeal to readers who prefer a mixture of text and pictures. It would also appeal to fans of superheroes and anyone who may have experienced anxiety, bullying or a divorce or separation of their parents.
We follow the main character, Portico Reeves, as he becomes Stuntboy, a superhero whose superpower is keeping people safe and making things right again. Family, friends and neighbours feature in the ups and downs of Portico's life. We also get snippets of plotlines from Portico and his best friend Zola's favourite superhero TV show, Super Space Warriors, complete with great illustrations by Raúl The Third.
I am a fan of Jason Reynolds' books, but was interested to read a book like this as it is not a genre I read very often. The reading experience is different and it was good to find a book that I feel would be enjoyed by some readers who may not be drawn to books consisting mostly of text.
