I did not enjoy this book. I was intrigued by the writing style of the first of the three short stories, but found the content violent and disturbing. Two stories involving crucifixion seemed a strange choice. The stories didn't resolve neatly and left the reader confused. I think this was to allow the reader to become disturbed by their own imagination in imagining what actually happened. I am glad I read the whole book, it is good to read out of a comfort zone, but I will not revisit.

This book is not for the light hearted. It’s very gruesome and very manipulative with the whole relationship. The writing is so good but the whole story is just messed up. It really messes with your head. It’s disturbing over all but a great read.
