Catch the wind. Find your freedom.

A riveting, magical adventure set deep underneath a richly reimagined London for 9+ readers.

Kidnapped and forced to shovel coal underneath a half-bombed, blackened power station, 12-year-old Luke’s life is miserable. Then, he discovers he can see things others can’t. Ghostly things. Specifically, a ghost-girl named Alma. Alma, who can ride clouds through the night sky and bend their shape to her will, befriends Luke. And with Alma’s help, Luke discovers he is in fact a rare being – half-human and half-something else …

Then Luke learns the terrible truth of why children are being kidnapped and forced to work in the power station, and he becomes even more desperate to escape.

Can Luke find out who he really is … and find his freedom?

Very cool book but has some deeper elements that are sad. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Oddly enough, the villain ghosts are my favourite characters in this book. Recommended to fiction-favourited readers

I like the fact that it made ghosts less scary

It was very good and exciting. I liked the adventure. It shows that even if you fail the only thing that matters is that you tried.
My favourite characters were Jess and Alma because Alma is a super-cool ghost, and Jess if really confident and won't let her friends get harmed.
I would recommend this book.

This is an amazing book. The way Luke is a half gost. It's all very confusing at first but then later on in the book you start to understand everything. One thing I did not understand:How do they ride the clouds?I recommend this book to 9 year olds.

I thought that this book was really good and kind of creepy.
My thoughts on what I have read are that this book is a little bit spooky because there are so many unexplained things happening that don't get reveled until the very end of the book.
My favourite character was Jess because she is always happy no matter what the situation. She is also calm under pressure.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone else. Probably someone how loves a mystery book or ghosts.

This was about a boy called Luke who lived underneath a power station, Battersea, in fact. He discovers he can see all sorts of every things and that he 'a different from everyone else. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil it for you! If you want to know more, why not read the book yourself?
My favourite character was Alma, though I won't tell you who she is.
I would recommend this book to people(I say 'people', adults can read it too!) who like creepy stuff and mystery and are aged 7+

I found this book a slog. I couldn't associate with the characters, either the trapped children or Tabatha, the character create mayhem. I read to the end, because I finish books I start, but not one I will readily recommend.

It was ok!

An excellent debut, I was interested in the characters and story of this one immediately. A strong villain (not dissimilar to the child catcher in Chitty Chitty BB, or The Warden in Holes) made for some excellent imagery and enough danger/peril for a 9+ child. I would have liked more depth in the story as I feel it had so much more to give.
