The long awaited sequel to the award-winning favourite, There’s a Bear on My Chair, from bestselling author and illustrator, Ross Collins.

The tables have turned in this fantastically funny rhyming picture book. This time, it’s Bear who has an unwelcome guest, and that cheeky mouse just won’t leave. He’s making a real commotion in Bear’s house – eating all the food, listening to loud music and even spilling bathwater all over the floor! But when there’s an unexpected knock at the door, Bear decides that perhaps mice are actually rather nice! A funny family story to share at bedtime (or any time!) From the bestselling creator of There’s a Bear on My Chair, winner of the Amnesty CILIP Honour 2016 and shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal 2016. Can’t get enough? I used to listen to this on audio and loved the voices. Now I try and do them myself, I like doing the karate bit, it’s very fun.

There is some wonderful rhyming in this story that really captures the interest of the reader. Along with funny illustrations, this book is an interesting starting point for rhyming words as they all rhyme with ‘mouse’. The prequel, ‘There’s a bear in my chair’ could be used alongside this story and lead to KS1 children finding their own long lists of rhyming words that they could use in their own class shared write where each child can add their own unique line.
