Really kept you gripped not my usual read but I kept turning the pages
I love Crime Fiction books, so this was a great read. Always on the edge of my seat and couldn't put the book down!
I listened to this as an e-audiobook and absolutely loved it. The story opens with a Headmaster starting a new job in a private crammer for underperforming pupils. Moving with him is his partner, a crime novelist. She learns about a missing teenage couple who disappeared two years before and the novel is written in two timelines – the present day, and starting at the time before the couple went missing. It's a strange story, involving kidnap and murder, and focused on family dynamics between different families from different backgrounds. It's so well-paced and the different threads are so engaging I even felt some sympathy for the baddies. Listening to this it was even possible to enjoy doing the ironing!

I love Lisa Jewell books. There aren’t many I’ve not read and this one didn’t disappoint. Lisa is queen of last chapter discoveries. She keeps you guessing, twisting and turning through possible solutions until the very end. I listen to this as an audio book ans can honestly say the narrator was amazing. All her voices kept the characters all clear in my mind. A great who done it! .
