Roald Dahl, the best-loved of children’s writers, was born in Wales of Norwegian parents. After school in England he went to work for Shell in Africa. He began to write after ""a monumental bash on the head"", sustained as an RAF pilot in World War II. Roald Dahl died in 1990.
Quentin Blake is one of the best-known and best-loved children’s illustrators and it’s impossible now to think of Roald Dahl’s writings without imagining Quentin Blake’s illustrations.

I like the character of the Witch. She is ugly and funny. I would recommend it, but everyone I know already knows this book.
I love this book because it’s spooky and I know all the secrets too…she treads softly moves quietly she gets closer and closer
My favourite character was Luke and I liked that he was happy being a mouse!
My favourite character was the head witch because I found it funny when she took off her mask and she was extremely ugly. It was interesting because I liked it when the grandma and the boy spied on all the witches. I liked it when the grandma was talking to the boy about witches. Would recommend.
Fun
I enjoyed reading this book because it was interesting and quite scary too. My favourite character was the grand high witch because she was horrible and petrifying, which made the story exciting. I would recommend reading this book because the story is intriguing.
I thought this book was very engaging. It is one of my favourite books. My favourite character is the mouse because he takes on lots of challenges to destroy the witches of England. It’s very exciting and I didn’t want to put it down.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think I liked Mary the mouse the best because she’s mysterious and courageous and clever.

I really liked this book Roald Dahl is one of my favourite authors. It was a bit scary but the ending was really good
The witches were evil and cruel. I was glad that they turned into mice .
loved learning how to spot a witch
It was funny because the witches turned two little boys into mice and one of the boys then turned the witches into mice.
I love all the potions and drama that this book has. I think I'm a bit of a Ronald Dalh nerd because I have nearly every book he made.
