I don't usually choose adventure books but this was as good as the first one and is full of strong female characters. Aleja is now a proper member of the Ship of Shadows' crew and they are on a mission to find the second part of the map. It is a race against the clock, literally, but other pirates are after the map too. Aimed at 9+
Part 2 of my favourite series
Very good book, not as good as the first one, but good storyline.
I loved this book! Full to bursting with fierce, girl pirates this book is one of my all time faves. Malika with her Fiery attitude and love for weapons if definitely my favourite character as she is brave and fearless.
It was okay but it seemed to drag on a bit I loved the ideas and curiosity of it though
Brilliant.
The next adventure for the crew of the ship of shadows takes them across the globe from Europe to China. Great characters and an original concept.
A brilliant sequel to The Ship of Shadows, re-joining the all-female crew on their next quest, with a race against time to solve the clues to find the second piece of the magic map. Such a great crew of characters and superb descriptions whisk you away on a fast-paced and thrilling adventure.
A brilliant second in the series. I have a fondness for all the characters but my absolute favourite is Tinta. I cannot wait for the release of the third book in the series.
I’ve been a bit distracted this week as we’re away on holiday. But our apartment in Oban overlooks the bay and it’s the most beautiful backdrop for reading this book. I was blown away by the first Ship of Shadows book last summer so had been really looking forward to getting my hands on this. It was brilliant! Though I’m a tad disappointed with myself that I didn’t wait to reread the first one again, as there were characters and details I had to think hard about to remember what was going on. Still I enjoyed the next instalment of Aleja’s adventures, Frances’ insatiable desire for cake and the loyalty and love between this strong crew of women, and girls! Think this series is going to be a marathon, rather than a sprint. I look forward to reliving it all again next year, just before book 3 comes out.
