Loved this fictional book, found the book in my local library and was reading it with my 10 year old. We could not put the book down, the twists and turns throughout the story opened your imagination up to so many possibilities. Amari is a strong-willed, true leader and the writer brought her brilliance to life so well.
I would completely recommend this book to absolutely everyone I loved it so much and I just had to read it because everyone told me too and I'm so glad they did. it was so good and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of reading it. it kept me on the edge of my seat at all times I was never bored reading this and couldn't put it down you must 100% read this book

It was a literally magical book
Very full of twists and turns
I loved it 5/5
Flipping heck - why has it taken so long to read this. It is amazing! Harry Potter fans this is better!
Amari is a black girl from teh wrong side of NY, she has however got a scholarship to the same school her brother did. But Amari isn't Quinton, school is difficult. Quinton is missing, he has been for 6 months, the police think he was doing something illegal, to send money home but Amari knows he wouldn't do that.
Then she gets a message from Quinton and a nomination for a very special 'school', a school for those with magic. But just what is Amari's special skill - does she really have one?
Follow Amari through the school where she wants to be an Agent so she can find her brother. It's her goal, that's it no other department. But again, school is difficult, especially because of her skill.
Brilliant book, magical and descriptive. Loved it. On to book 2 right now!
My favourite character was Amari
I would recommend this book. It is a thrilling tale about Amari, an ordinary girl, until she discovers that she is 100 percent magician as she tries to look for her long- lost brother, Quinton.
Amari and the Night Brothers was very fun to read. The mysterious Bureau of Supernatural Affairs was gripping, I loved the different rankings and careers available to trainees. It was also hilarious how different historic events were said to actually have been caused by alien abduction! Several enthralling plot twists take place as Amari discovers her dangerous magical power. I would recommend this book to readers aged 10 and above.
I really enjoyed this book!!
This book was full of adventure and magic. This book was a fiction book. The person I most enjoyed was Amari! I would highly recommend this book for ages 8 - 14-year-olds.
I can't wait to tell you more.
Interesting characters and great world building. Really imaginitive and funny.
i like how amari just electrocutes dylan
it has a mystery
Magical and exciting
Perfect summer camp for me.
I really like the book because the amazing descriptions it gives you is so powerful and you get such a big blow when you realise a person is not how they seem because the author has given you such a particular thought about someone. I would definitely recommend this book to all people.
I liked Elsie the most because she turned out to be courageous and brave.I would one hundred %recommend this to who likes a bit of mystery
I loved it because of how adventurous Amari is and how she has to discover lots of new things about herself. My favourite thing about the book is that Amari finds a way to prove that she is not bad even if she is different to everyone else
I really enjoyed this book. The world of magic is very much dominated by HP but I think this series will give readers a new take on that fantasy/adventure genre.
I think this book is worth five points because it is really funny and kind of kooky because Amari's brother goes missing and they reported him dead but he sends a briefcase to her. I mean, how is this even possible (unless he is hiding somewhere)! I like Amari the most because she is funny and kind but a little naughty! I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries!
This was a magical experience reading this book. A world where ‘other beings’ live amongst us. A bureau designed to look after and protect both the humans and ‘others’. A Magician so powerful and evil he wants to take over. A young girl in search of her brother. This is ‘Amari and the Night Brothers’.
Twelve-year-old Amari is super worried about her missing older brother, Quinton. On top of that, she loses her school scholarship that covers a tuition her mom can’t afford to pay. But then she receives a mysterious package—sent from Quinton himself—that invites her to spend the summer at … a magical training camp!
Amari isn’t bothered about working for the bureau, her only goal is to discover what happened to her brother and bring him home, but a cloud of mystery and classified information greet her. With the help of her new friend and roommate Elsie who is a Weredragon, Amari will stop at nothing to find her brother and his partner who also went missing at the same time, together they are known as VanQuish.
Amari and the Night Brothers is like Men in Black for children. It is also the first in a series by a debut author and oh what a book it is!
The story is a complete roller-coaster ride from the very beginning. It is exciting and adventurous. The world-building is magnificent. It is exceptionally imaginative and easy to visualise. I especially loved the talking elevators who each had a unique personality. As well as adventure the book is filled with sibling love and the desire to find Quinton is in Amari’s heart at all times.
The characters are all truly amazing with our main character Amari being quite the girl. She is head smart, kind, stronger than she gives herself credit for, and she has a red hot determination within her. She is a trier and gives everything 100%. She pushes through times when she is scared and finds her inner courage.
The plot is not just another middle-grade novel trying to ride on the coattails of Harry Potter, this book stands on its own two feet. I can see it being a big hit next year when it is released and if we have learned anything from the HP books, buy a first copy it just might be worth something in a few years, in fact, buy two, one to keep without opening and one to read as you definitely don’t want to miss this book.
I really enjoyed this book and encourage others to read this book to.
