""Sometimes you are a whisper away from magic without even realizing it.""

Nine is an orphan pickpocket determined to escape her life in the Nest of a Thousand Treasures. When she steals a house-shaped ornament from a mysterious woman’s purse, she knocks on its tiny door and watches it grow into a huge, higgledy-piggeldy house. Inside she finds a host of magical and brilliantly funny characters, including Flabberghast – a young wizard who’s particularly competitive at hopscotch – and a hideous troll housekeeper who’s emotionally attached to his feather duster. They have been placed under an extraordinary spell, which they are desperate for Nine to break – and if she can, maybe they can offer her a new life in return…

""A Diana Wynne Jones-ish adventure fizzing with imagination. Such fun – I loved it!"" – Sinead O’Hart
""A wonder-filled book that revels in magic and mayhem."" – Abi Elphinstone
""Wildly imaginative and relentlessly entertaining. It is a story like no other and I absolutely adored it!"" – David Walliams

I liked this book, it was a bit mysterious. The spoon was the best character.

I really enjoyed this book because it was fiction and it was about a thief called nine who got stuck in a tiny house with a spoon wearing a Scottish skirt and a wizard plus a mythical creature that looks like a bull But Probably isn’t. I also enjoyed this book because it’s really funny when they get stuck in different places And loads of different things happen with the house.

Nine reminds me of Zhen from Kungfu Panda 4, same humble beginning and upbringing.

This is my new favourite book. It is magical and has a mysterious story to it as-well! I like fantasy and magic books and this was one of my favourites. Not only did the characters break a curse, she also got something for herself. She could be free from the horrible life that she had lived until then. I Loved it and I highly recommend this book!

Fantastic

I liked it. All the characters were crazy and ridiculous in a good way for example there is a skeleton living in a closet always asking for a rib brush.

I liked the book very much, it has been very different to other books i have read. The house had a curse on it and Nine one of the characters had to try and break it, if not the house would shrink to point it could vanish. Nine is the nineth thiefling in the nest, Nine knocked on the door therefore she was chosen to break the curse.

I liked the way this story was set up - I loved that you could see what was going to happen but at the same time there were still surprises to keep you interested. A great read!

I liked the house at the edge of time but i think it might of been written for a younger age group like eight to nine year olds. I still really enjoyed it but i found i got bored of the story quite early on.
