What would you do if your home wasn’t safe any more? Bea and her family are trying to live as if everything is normal. She and her sister Hannah look out for one another, at home and in school. But their country is starting to fall apart. A civil war is raging, and it’s getting closer. Bea is desperate not to leave home, but how long will it be before they have to run?

this book is amazing because how the characters are strong and what they have to go through is very rough ! I definitely recommend this book.
It was a great book
It is really good and dramatic as well as good illustrations.
It was a book about a family who is trying to escape from the city to go to another country where their mother was.
But the soldiers are everywhere. One day the father went to get some hidden money from a neighbor's house who was arrested. He left the children in the house. There were three children. After he went, two soldiers came to the house to find the people. Luckily, the children escaped from the house and went into the dark forest.
It shows you how bad the expirences of living in a war are.
My first graphic novel! Interesting to see how much of the story is told through the illustrations - lots to talk about with my year 5 readers. A frightening scenario which will build empathy in young readers. Ended abruptly! Can’t wait for the next book!
I think that it was a very good book and the relationships with in the family were lovely. I love that the whole family looked after each other. The person i like the most was Bea she was the little sister of the family. I would highly recommend this to many people because lots of people I know like Evacuation and war book and its also a comic

I’d never read a graphic novel before and was interested to see how much of the story is told through the images - for instance, the litter-strewn streets and graffiti which tell the story of how society is breaking down. A very tense read in which there is martial law and food shortages, and characters are afraid of the arrival of the Free Kingdom and unsure who to trust.
Disappointing ending! Not so much a cliffhanger as just coming to an abrupt halt.
