“Such a fun story with excellent illustrations … with enough familiarity to feel known but with enough difference to make it quirky and original” Malorie Blackman
A yellow moon hangs in a satin sky the night Cinderella, barefoot and in hand-me-downs, slips at the top of the stairs … and dies. But not for long. The Shadow of Death arrives to breathe life back into her bones and, for three nights only, Cinderella goes forth as ZOMBIERELLA. With her skin as cold as ice and her faithful horse Lumpkin back by her side, can she seek revenge on her three cruel, fake sisters, once and for all?
Crawl out of the grave and step into your mushroom carriage for this haunting and humorous adventure of the undead girl searching for her happily ever after.

It was a bone chilling fabulous fiction book
i like the bit when the mum cuts of her daughters feet of so the foot would fit on them
If you are looking for a little rags to riches fairy tale close this book immediately!!! This gory story has bugs and bogeys, slimy surprises and more than a spot of revenge. And, yes.... I'm afraid dear sweet reader, that is Death. Dum dum dum!
I really like this book. It’s sometimes sad but there’s lots and lots of monsters in it.
When Cinderella dies after falling down the stairs she is visited by “The Fairy of Death.” who says “Cinderella, you have died, It is sad but true, You fell and hit your head, after slipping on some poo!” the Fairy goes on to give her three nights to attend the balls being hosted by the Prince.
Zombierella is laugh out loud funny, from the opening words of the inside cover “Dear friends if you are looking for a lovely little rags-to-riches fairy tale, please close this book IMMEDIATLEY. Immediately. This gory story has bugs and bogeys, slimy surprises, and more than a spot of revenge. And, yes…I’m afraid, dear sweet readers that there is DEATH.” The characters, especially Cinderella’s three ‘fake’ step-sisters are fabulous and completely over the top. The descriptions of characters and surroundings are great and make everything easy to imagine even Cinderella’s feet (no spoilers)! The book is cleverly written and has the most amazing illustrations that compliment the words and bring the story to life, a perfect read for KS2.
Really enjoyed the twist to a classic fairytale
I saw this book in the library and realised that we read it at school before. I enjoyed the book and my favourite character is Lumpkin because I love horses and I thought that he had a great personality. I would recommend it to my friend because she loves horses too.
I liked it, I loved her dress.
It makes fairytales more interesting! I loved the plot twists!
really liked how it was such a twist of cinderella and all the times death came also the revenge that zombierella gave her sisters especially the one about guts
I really like this book and it’s really different to others I have read
It was a better book than zombierella
I loved this book! It was fiction and my favourite character was zombierella, this book was a bit creepy and humorous and I’d definitely recommend to people that like spooky books! I found it really funny and I like the plot twist of how Cinderella turns into Zombierella! I really liked the illustrations and the characters looked so pretty! Definitely recommend this book
It was very scary but a very wonderful book. Yes I would recommend it.
I loved the book it was spectacular because I don’t normally read fairytales because I don’t really like them but I like Hansel and gretel and the boy who cried wolf but Zombierella I love stories which have a twist a scary twist 5stars if not a million!
This book is fiction and it is really good, I found that I liked it better than some of the books I have read already.I found it quite fascinating that it was a twisted tale and it still made sense to Cinderella. I consider reading more Joseph Coelho books!
Bad
Its amazing, I really enjoyed it because its turned from an fairy tale to a zombie book for older children.
I really liked the main character(zombierella) because she does not stop trying and does not give up!!
Yes, I would if that person loves adventures and description!!
This book is the best.!!!
It was a good book about always being kind.
Dark!
I plan to use this as a book club text with Y4-6. I hope that the boys are able to get past the 'retelling of a fairytale' as I think they'll love the gruesome details.
I liked it because it had at least a happy ending. I also liked it because Zombierella kept coming back to life and for a second chance at life. I didn’t like it because I got sad in it, like when horse died.
I loved this. It had a bit of everything in it, just perfect. I think anyone over the age of 7 would enjoy it.
I like this book as it is based on the original Cinderella but it has a twist. I like that is has magic and I love how it's not predictable.
Zombierella was a bit spooky but I really liked it because it was fun to read.
I hated it because the descriptions of Zombierella were disgusting.
Such a fun book! Fab, my Year 5s are going to love this! A familiar story with a gruesome twist. Zombies, vampires, skeletons and self-amputation.. what more could a 10 year old wish for?
I liked Death the best because she was nice and let Zombierella be a Zombie and she also brought back Zombierella’ pets. I would recommend this because it was interesting and unlike other books.
