The transport ship Orion is four months out of Earth when catastrophe strikes – leaving the ship and everyone on board stranded in deep space
Suddenly it’s up to thirteen-year-old Beth and her friends to navigate through treacherous and uncharted territory to reach safety. But a heavily-damaged ship, space pirates, a mysterious alien species, and an artificial intelligence that Beth doesn’t know if she can trust means that getting home has never been so difficult…
Hugely gripping, with incredible twists and a fast-paced, action-packed story, this is an unputdownable science fiction adventure – perfect for fans of Star Wars.

I liked Vihaan for his control. The idea of space travel let alone other planet colonies gives me curiosity
A really great book with lots of twists and turns to keep you enthralled.
Oooh good.
amazing
amazing
It was amazing!!! I really like space and aliens. I didn't predict the Vidishi were the ships. I didn't think Captain Keir would betray them. My favourite character was Limit because she loves gadgets and computers and I love gadgets and computers. The Gadgeteers is the best Reading Challenge crew so far. I would recommend this book for the over 9s.
Love it, lots of twists
really good lots of twists.
I really enjoyed this book, and couldn't stop reading it! My favourite character is Beth and I would definitely recommend it to others.
MG space adventure story with diverse characters.
I think it was alsome but didn't like all
Not my style
A science-fiction marvel! I was glued to this imaginative tale from beginning to end. The relationships between the characters helped move the plot forward. I’d highly recommend this book.
i read a book some time ago and though 'this is the best book' but after reading this one i realised this is the best book i could possibly read. great book set in the future. i normally dont like books set in the distant future however this book had everything that was believable, nothing out of the ordinary.
Orion Lost is about a ship in space with it's crew but something strange occurs and everyone is put into emergency Sleep. Ship-the computer- wakes Beth who is the only person who has the right knowledge and can be Woke. She then Wakes her friends, together they find out that Ship is lying to them...
I like this book because it's about space and I also like mystery books
The only downside is it is hard to really understand when and how these things are happening like switching bodies. Although, this book is in the future so I guess that is the point!
I absolutely loved this book because of how it always kept you on your toes. My favourite characters are all of the vidishi as they are such strange, yet caring aliens. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves science fiction.
I reread this book because it isn’t like anything I have ever read before. It was really exciting!
An amazingly brilliant book !
Its hard to understand, good for sci-fi readers. Exciting beginning.
"I am the master of my own ship."
I would absolutely recommend Orion Lost. It's a sci-fi story set on a transport ship called Orion, which is navigating away from Earth through space to Eos Five (via 'Jumping'). The characters are engaging and they feel real when you read them (they aren't perfect). Beth, for example, has to overcome a number of personal struggles throughout the book.
Alastair Chisholm's story throughout space left me wanting to read more - partly because of these well-written characters but also the twists and turns woven into the narrative.
Amazing, Thrilling, Awsome! Love this! Highly reacomend it.
A ship(orion) is lost in space, when a disaster occures. It is up to 13 year old, caucious beth , her friends and frienimies to get back home! This is science fiction so it has:A mysterious Alien spicies, space prates who want somthing to rule the galaxy and an AI who has been lieing to them for the whole journey!! This is an unputdownable story!!! I would read it twice. or mabey three times. Or mabey four. I dont know but i loved this
This book is great if you like space and science fiction. 10/10 from me
